Connect Live 2026 Travel Diary
Day 3 of my Singapore journey was another unforgettable chapter of Connect Live 2026. By this time, Singapore no longer felt like a completely new place. The city was becoming familiar, and the Local Guides I had met during the previous days were beginning to feel like old friends.
The morning started with excitement as we gathered for another day of Connect Live activities. There was a wonderful energy among the Local Guides. People were talking, laughing, taking photographs and sharing their experiences from different parts of the world. It was amazing to see how one common interest, Google Maps, could bring together people from so many different cultures.
Learning Beyond Google Maps
The sessions on Day 3 gave me many things to think about. We discussed how Local Guides can make their contributions more useful through better photos, helpful reviews, accurate information and meaningful map contributions.
I particularly enjoyed listening to the experiences of other Local Guides. Everyone had a different story about how they started contributing to Google Maps and how their contributions helped people in their own communities.
For me, these conversations were just as valuable as the official sessions. Sometimes a simple conversation with another Local Guide can give you an idea that stays with you for a long time.
Friendship Was the Best Part
One of the biggest highlights of Day 3 was spending time with fellow Local Guides. We clicked group photographs, exchanged smiles, and shared stories about our countries, cultures, and travels.
Although we had met only a few days earlier, there was already a strong feeling of friendship. We came to Singapore from different places, but Connect Live gave us a common space where everyone felt connected.
Different countries. Different languages. One community. One map.
Capturing Singapore
Between the activities, I also enjoyed taking photographs of Singapore. The city’s modern skyline, beautiful waterfront, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay area and famous landmarks provided plenty of opportunities to capture memories.
As a Local Guide, photography has always been more than simply taking a nice picture for me. A good photograph can help someone understand a place before they visit it.
A Memorable Celebration
The day also brought moments of fun and celebration. There was music, laughter, group photographs, and plenty of happy conversations. Looking around and seeing Local Guides enjoying the moment made me realise how special this gathering really was.
At one point, I found myself thinking about my journey as a Local Guide. From making small contributions on Google Maps to travelling from Kolkata to Singapore as an invited Local Guide, this was something I could never have imagined when I first started.
A Moment of Gratitude
As Day 3 came to an end, I felt a mixture of happiness and emotion. The event was giving me much more than new knowledge. It was giving me friendships, confidence, inspiration, and memories that I could carry back home.
I was deeply grateful to Google for inviting me to Connect Live 2026 and giving me the opportunity to meet such an incredible global community.
Singapore gave me beautiful photographs, but Connect Live gave me stories behind those photographs.
I arrived in Singapore as a Local Guide from Kolkata. I left with a much bigger feeling of being part of a global community of people who help others discover the world through Google Maps.
Day 3 ended, but the memories will stay with me for a very long time.
