Hey Eveyone,
I came across a post about Counseling Awareness Month by @Rahul001, and it inspired me to share a little about my counselor. She is truly the best.
I’m also adding this post to @Globe_trotter_Ish 's Support Women-Owned Businesses challenge and Rahul’s PRIDE Challenge.
Often, we don’t take mental health seriously. Just like we have medicines and treatments for physical ailments, counseling can do wonders for our mental and emotional well-being. In fact, sometimes it’s even more effective than medication, as it helps us understand and process our thoughts in a healthy way.
MindGuardian – Psychological Health and Wellness Centre is a safe haven for anyone seeking emotional support. They offer individual therapy, psychological testing, career counseling, workshops, and group therapy sessions.
At the heart of it is Ms. Siddhi Deshpande, a psychologist with over 10 years of experience in Counseling Psychology. Her approach is rooted in strong ethical values, and her dedication to helping people feel emotionally secure and mentally strong is truly commendable.
Her clinic feels more like a cozy talking café welcoming, warm, and open for heartfelt conversations.
Here’s what she had to say, questionaries inspired by the Rahul’s post*
What message do you want to convey during Counselling Awareness Month?
[Dr. Siddhi] : Counselling is for everyone. Visiting a psychologist does not mean you are crazy or mad; it’s simply a psychological health check-up, much like the physical health check-ups we do every six months. While we may feel everything is fine, sometimes our behavior reflects deeper issues that can impact our relationships and overall well-being. Mental health care is just as important as physical health care.
How do you see Google Maps helping mental health centers like yours?
[Dr.Siddhi]: Google Maps has been incredibly helpful. It allows people to easily find our center, access reviews, and feel confident reaching out for support. It’s made mental health services more visible and accessible to the community.
How do you ensure your counselling center is safe and welcoming for the LGBTQ+ community, women, and other diverse groups?
[Dr.Siddhi]: We take pride in offering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for everyone. Our quality of service speaks for itself our diverse clients are happy with us. However, we are always open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement if any concerns arise.
What role do you see your business playing in promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma?
[Dr.Siddhi]: We actively promote mental health awareness and work towards reducing the stigma around it. Especially today, with the intense pressures in corporate environments leading to serious health issues at young ages, the role of mental health professionals is crucial. Psychotherapists and counselors support business owners and employees alike in rational thinking, better decision-making, management, and assertive communication — all of which help create healthier workplaces. And this is just one aspect of the many ways mental health care can make a difference.
What inspired you to start your own mental health and counselling center?
[Dr.Siddhi]: Honestly, running a counseling center isn’t easy. However, when you are truly passionate about something, it happens naturally. Passion, patience, a deep love for the subject, determination, and resilience have been my driving forces — and they continue to guide me today.
What would you like to say to community seeking help?
[Dr.Siddhi]: You can achieve anything you set your mind to. Just ensure that whatever you pursue is healthy and beneficial for both you and your community. Whatever you have within you is powerful enough to create wonders — start by having faith and believing in yourself.
Thank you Dr. Siddhi for providing me with the inputs and your valuable time.
Let’s continue to support and promote mental health awareness by sharing and celebrating such invaluable resources in our communities.
