Is this the same or two different places?
One is taken from the internet and the other one is taken by me.
Before you make any conclusion let me share some points about the most famous River of Meghalaya. Approximately 200km from Guwahati and just beside Sylhet, Bangladesh, Umngot River also famous as Dawki River. This river flows through a small town also known as Dawki. It is a major trade route between India and Bangladesh. One part of the river is on the Bangladesh side and another one is in India. There are some huge boulders placed in the river for the boundary. But the security is high. No boat from Indian side can cross the line and it’s also applicable for Bangladesh.
You can say it is an Instagram sensation river/place for todays generation in India because of its crystal clear appearance.
But I was literally disappointed and shocked after arriving. I mean how could this be so different. But as we all know we should not judge anything too early.
After talking to some local Fishermen we came to know that we arrived at wrong time. The river gets its beauty in winter. The perfect time to visit is between Fourth week of November to first week of February. But we were standing on the hottest day of June. Nice…
Nevertheless there were so many things to do like boating, talking to native people, seating on river bar with a glass of Orange juice.
Also you can find some local shop for brunch and lunch. Although the food was ok ok. Their culture, food, ingredients are different so we should embrace their culture open heartedly. There are some clean public toilets too and lots of paid parking area.
