Mawlynnong is a beautiful village manage by beautiful people. There are no plastic, paper, wrapper even no leaves on the road. They was literally picking those one by one. The village is small you can cover it in 1h.
● You can contact homestays before reaching here. The prices are bit hight here. Because it is all known and famous i saw people from Punjab,Bangladesh, south,
●but you can also stay in Riwai village(Closed to Mawlynnong), which is well affordable and the experience is same.
●Or if the price is good stay in Mawlynnong and enjoy the village because it is a good place for night walking and exploring every small paths.
I was surprised that Mawlynnong beongs to India @Ankan_S! So the place is a bit far away from India, right? do you live here? Honestly it’s my first time knowing the place and it’s interesting!

@NunungAfuah It is basically situated in Eastern part of India( Meghalaya) one of the sisters among seven sisters of India and I am also from India. But not from Mawlynnong.

As far as I know, this village is the most beautiful and cleanest village in India. It is the result of the collective efforts of the people living in this village, who are very committed to preserving our environment and culture.
Yes indeed… Also they are so welcoming. They love their culture so much and they have some interesting cultural rituals. I have talked to some people there about their culture and it was amazing to know. I have visited in June 2024.

Although cleanliness by civic bodies exists in some cities in India, clean streets and neighborhoods by residents are rare.
Nice to know about this place, add to my bucket list of places to visit
our north-eastern states are filled with such beautiful treasures left to be explored
