We entered the Galle fort after a refreshing dive along Godagala reefs and we began the photo walk right from the car park. There were several artistic shops that could be captured with minimal lighting and other environmental conditions. Since the evening was too young, Myself and @KrithikaA walked along the road capturing many pictures. Also we went around the lighthouse, taking photos of that and its surrounding.
The beautiful waves touching the rocks was very nice scenery to stare at. Also, we could see many people enjoying a bath at the shore. Then suddenly, I noticed a blow of a Bugle like an instrument, when I turned that side, we could see a cobra dancing to the tempo of it’s master’s hand. There were several other people watching this dance standing around the show. After completion of the show, a foreigner who has initially requested the show paid him a little money. With more curiosity, I reached him and started talking about what he does as a livelihood and what are his hobbies. After a long chat, he asked me if I’m willing to have a photoshoot with his python kid.
Yes, the mother snake was lying inside a cloth bag and he took an offspring of that huge bellied snake from the middle of the bag. It came out like a well-trained toddler and started crawling around my neck and arms. With a little bit of nervousness, I started posing the camera and completed the session in just a few minutes. After the photoshoot, we started walking along the roads filled with a lot of gemstones, handicrafts and other traditional clothing materials. Also, we could see some shops that have a room where a makeup artist stands inside the shop who was wearing handloom sarees for some foreign women who were inquisitive of celebrating Sri Lankan culture.
Many visitors were also buying gem at gem houses and other similar jewelry shops. We went around the fort for three complete rounds capturing very beautiful pictures and we returned home with cameras filled with photographs and hearts filled with lots of beautiful memories.
Beautiful photos @IlankovanT . The Galle Lighthouse is beautiful… The snake is impressive, but I would not like it slithering around my neck. I also like the photo of the artworks; the colours are so vivid. Which place did you enjoy the most?
@IlankovanT The beach and the lighthouse photos are so beautiful. It is the perfect place for meetup. Thank you for sharing this beautiful recap with us.
Hi @JustineE Thank you, Initially, I was not comfortable when it goes around my neck and then got it front. I really love those paintings and few months before we had a beautiful meetup in Sri Lanka and that time we had a chance to capture many street artworks. hope you will like some artworks from this post.
I would say this is one of the best places to host a meetup @Ant_Bad_Yogi , there are lots of shops and tourist spots where you can get beautiful photos.
Thank you so much @AlejandraMaria yeh sometimes local guides are brave!. when you visit Sri Lanka I will take you to the Southern coast, I’m sure you will love this beach.
What a wonderful post @IlankovanT . The lighthouse and the ocean photos look stunning, make me want to see with my own eyes, not through pictures. I love your underwater photography (the ones you shared on Google photos earlier) as well. But I’m not sure if I like the snake around your neck photo. I felt scared seeing it. I know it probably is not poisonous, but still I would never try that.
Hi @SoniaK yes, it is a beautiful place and plan a trip to Sri Lanka, I will take you there. I’m sure you will love this place.
@OmerAli ha ha ha… first 5 seconds I really scared and then the owner said this is a baby python and it will not do anything for you… after his commands I said ok then now selfie time
@KashifMisidia thank you. this place is located in the southern province. from Colombo, it will take two hours drive. next time when you come SL I will take you there.
