The Bank of Maharashtra has left no stone unturned to make its main branch in Delhi NCR accessible for People with Disabilities or PwD.
The main entrance to the Times Square Building where the bank is located is leveled with the Sector 30 main road.
The large board of the bank near the gate is also helpful for the visually impaired to locate the bank entrance from far off.
There is also a sticker on the floor to indicate the visually impaired where to stand for security and temperature checks.
Here is the view of the same place from the inside.
The government has made it mandatory for every bank to maintain a Braille manual for its customers.
But most banks would not keep a copy in every branch.
They just maintain one copy for the entire district and smaller branches keep pointing to higher branches to access the manual until one reaches the zonal office where it is difficult to get access to it easily.
The next time you are in a bank, please check if they have a Braille manual and let me know how easy was it to access and photograph it.
Great care has been taken for our own people. We should be proud to have such a nice building. I think nowhere this type of building is available. What an imagination. How much detailing has been done. Great job done
The bank doesnтАЩt have a drive-through yet @Ewaade_3A since this concept is foreign in India.
They do not serve snacks but do offer tea and water on visits.
The bank employees have a cold attitude towards itтАЩs customers and most of the time they want to simply avoid any engagement. They are so notorious in behavior that these bank employees are often the subject of comedy TV shows.
Watch this 8 minute video from a standup comedian Saloni. You wonтАЩt understand Hindi but will enjoy every bit of it. May be try turning ON language captions. There are English terms used throughout, and this video will show the attitude of the bank employees in a satirical fashion.
I have a Hindi teacher. She will translate for me.
I laughing already.
So, while they have put all features in place, they are inaccessible to customers.
Oftentimes, if I go to an establishment and experience such, I just feel like they are underpaid. Everyone properly paid has a good disposition towards the paying customer who inadvertently pay their salaries.
This cold disposition generally is a huge turnoff for me. @TusharSuradkar
Very very informative post on accessibility. Each and every postos of the post showing the accessibility features of the Bank of the Maharashtra. Thanks @TusharSuradkar for all the efforts.
