A Neon Lit MacDonalds in the Ford Museum of Detroit

The Ford Museum in Detroit is huge.
After walking the endless galleries, people tend to be hungry.

This is when I bumped into this amazing McDonald’s outlet built right inside the museum.

The Ford Museum is famous for its automobile collection.
And they continue to exhibit them while people queue up for their orders

QuickBite Read how I traveled to the Ford Museum from downtown Detroit for on $1.

Each exhibit comes with a detailed description, its history, and its features.
For example, this Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible.

Here’s the view of the outlet and the car from the other side.

Here’s the view of the outlet entrance, basking in the glow of the neon signs that are all over the place.

If you observe carefully, the actual shop is also hosted in an old-fashioned automobile van :backhand_index_pointing_up:

Here are some other unique McDonald’s outlets I have come across in the US:

MacDonalds in NASA

MacDonalds on Historic Route 66

MacDonalds Visible from a Flight

Have you come across a unique McDonald’s outlet?

Excellent post.

When I was reading you post, something clicked in my mind that these to giants must have foreseen before collaboration, and guess what, my instinct was right, they both have made a commitment for the sustainability.
Ford is using the waste coffee chaff of McDonald’s for manufacturing of the composite material for vehicle parts. Which is lightweight to the traditional parts and also energy efficient, that as a result improve efficiency of their vehicles. :ok_hand:t2::+1:t2::bouquet:

Isn’t that an important?
Just adding to your great post, @TusharSuradkar . I hope it’s fine with you.

Cheers!

What an absolutely glowing post, @TusharSuradkar ji!:sparkles:
A McDonald’s outlet inside the Ford Museum — complete with neon charm and classic auto vibes — is truly one-of-a-kind! Your documentation brings alive how cleverly the museum blends nostalgia, design, and food.

@AjitThite ji, your added insight on sustainability is equally commendable. I wasn’t aware of the collaboration where Ford uses McDonald’s coffee chaff to create lightweight car parts — that’s a brilliant example of circular economy in action! :recycling_symbol::clap:

This creative synergy between two global brands truly aligns with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and is a fine reminder of how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Thanks both for enriching our understanding — from neon lights to green practices! :seedling::automobile::french_fries:
Looking forward to more such amazing contributions from both of you.

I agree, although I don’t understand what it means.
Thanks for your comment :handshake:

Fully agree @PrasadVR

I often think about what it is that makes MacD an attraction for both young and old alike

Absolutely - I was waiting for this comment and observation, dear @MathanVibranarayan
This MacD outlet is quite old, maybe 25-30 years old, so the look is quite retro, and I don’t think they have made it on purpose. I think it is actually a very old outlet.

If they made such Mac’d ambience here, I’m not gonna leave the place at all
