Wrong merge of topics - topic closed. Add shopping center category (2)

I'm sorry I open a new topic but I did not know how to contact you.

@Petra_M  you merged my topic:

https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Idea-Exchange/Add-shopping-center-category-for-google-maps/idc...

with this topic:

https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Idea-Exchange/Reconsider-selection-criteria-for-new-places/idc...

But this topic is closed

I can not replay to @JanVanHaver  question as the topic is closed.

Anyway, my response is the following, a shopping center look different than a mall, this is an example for a shopping center:

also this:

Its is a location with many stores, the definition of a mall is: "a large building or series of connected buildings containing a variety of retail stores and typically also restaurants."

and in the case of a shopping center, we do not have a large building containing stores. The stores are outside.

This is the definition of a shopping-center: "an area or complex of stores with adjacent parking." it fits the pictures I attached.

Thanks

Hi @orenA

I think the terms Mall and Shopping center are not as well defined as you indicated. In my part of the world the term Shopping center is used for both of your categories. And there are Malls that calls themselves a Shopping center. So the task of getting the terminology straight is not isolated to Google Maps.

Cheers
