Local Guides Card

My idea can be strange for some people. But I should write. I propose create Local Guides Card - like Press Card. Sometimes I have a big trouble when I want to take photos or videos for Google Maps. Of course, it depends of countries and cities. But in Ukraine (in Kyiv, capital of my country) I had many situations when it was prohibited to take photos. The store security wanted to call police. I would like to emphasize - it's no tipical situations. Ukrainian laws are very specific. I don't know about situation in others countries. Ukrainian Constitution says: people can collect all information. But law about information says: people can collect just some information. And security can prohibit to take photos and shoot videos.

Of course every time I explain who are Local Guides. I tell about program.

I propose to create Local Guides Card for 8-10 levels.

Hi @Rojent Google have repeatedly anaswered that IDs will not be provided to any Local Guides. If you need to show people what you are doing you can show them the "My Contributions" in the Maps App. You do not work for Google. You do not represent Google. You are a volunteer Local Guide. An ID would make people think that you were an employee of Google which would cause both you and Google complications.

Hi again @Rojent while I respect your idea, believe me this one won't go anywhere. Search for things like "give us id" "provide id" and similar topics and you will see what I mean.

Hi Google Guide Team and Fellow Local Guides

I am a level 9 LG from Karachi, Pakistan. I really appreciate this idea exchange forum and decided to pitch in my own idea for a possible Perk

We Local Guides do this work on voluntary basis and many of us really enjoy the positive difference we make in other people's lives by our reviews, pictures of places. But, except for the online badges and our own LG page we do not have any identify to display or show.

It might be a little things for your guys , but I would request considering an Official Printed ID card/Badge  for the trusted and LG above a certain level and good contributions ( e.g top 5% from a city, All LG above Level 8, Trusted street Photographers etc)

The Badge can have the official LG logo, Picture of the guide, His/her country/City, Level and ID number. This will be the official identify of the LG.This would add value to the program, give us more confidence while visiting places and make it easier for us to take permissions for pictures and videos of places who do not know about the LG program.

Hi Everyone, I'm Hassan from Egypt , I have an important idea,  Why don't the local guides get a ID card as a local guide to avoid the problems that they might face?

For example, I was taking a photo of a bank  to add it , I was surprised by the security attaked me and take my phone, and i can't proven that I'm a local guide , thanks for attention ,

I often get into situations similar to that when taking pictures. I gently remind the security of my right to appreciate whatever I find so. I tell them that photography is my expression. They leave me alone to do my work.
