Local Guides Card

My idea can be strange for some people. But I should write. I propose create Local Guides Card - like Press Card. Sometimes I have a big trouble when I want to take photos or videos for Google Maps. Of course, it depends of countries and cities. But in Ukraine (in Kyiv, capital of my country) I had many situations when it was prohibited to take photos. The store security wanted to call police. I would like to emphasize - it's no tipical situations. Ukrainian laws are very specific. I don't know about situation in others countries. Ukrainian Constitution says: people can collect all information. But law about information says: people can collect just some information. And security can prohibit to take photos and shoot videos.

Of course every time I explain who are Local Guides. I tell about program.

I propose to create Local Guides Card for 8-10 levels.

Y también por otro lado sería estupendo tener un certificado de Google Maps.

I know that this one is probably going to be one of the ( not great ideas ). But what about Local Guides which are level 5 or higher could receive a physical badge/card/ID which would grant them the ability to take photos ( in the places which you might not be able to take them at, or where you might be able to get early access ( similar to a card which Press personal has )). Or maybe some places could grant those guides some discounts.

Subject - Printable badges(ID cards) for Local Guides.

Being a local guide you are always interested in taking photos of what ever you see. But sometimes taking photos is not possible.

Real Time Example

I visit so many places and shops locally, when i try to take photos, people(Specially the owner) doesn't allow me take photos. Even if i explain them that these photos are going to be in google which helps their business, "NO don't take photos" That is the thing i listen.

Thinking from a shop keeper perspective there is no element of trust towards me(Local Guides) for the guy to believe in me that, do i really upload them to google or do something with the photos.

Solution

My idea(Solution) for this problem is having a specifically designed ID cards for Local guides from google after reaching certain level can help the LG's to show their credibility among people. When the local shopkeeper or owner develops trust in local guide he can also cooperate to take photos which will be helpful for the community.

Note - Here i am not referring to public places,offices, malls etc. This is mainly for the local shops and small places around you.

Impact

When the local shopkeeper trusts you, he may allow you to take really nice photos by even spending his time. He may also give you extra information about his business which will help the community in a better way.

It's a WIN-WIN situation for everyone.

Local Owners won't have problem towards LG's for taking photos.

LG's need not hesitate to take photos.

Google will have more quality photos and information.

Thank you for sharing your idea, but similar idea had been suggested before and had an answer to it. So I am merging it - Local Guides Card.

Google sponsored 50%  (even higher) subsidised Room-Stay facility in Hotels for 10th Level Local Guides may be extended with a smart  ID card that should take care of subsidies on settling the room bills of the hotel they stay.

The element of subsidies can be arranged to be debited to Google account. This facility would ensure such Local Guides to write reviews of the hotels they stay in a city/ town for the primary cause of Google Maps photography.

On the other hand this should also benefit the Hoteliers as regards the review of their institution that will attract global perspective.

On reciprocation Google services will also be used by them.

Will the administration take a policy decision to recommend availing of subsidies for these dedicated Local Guides of 10th Level. 

This will also inspire the the lower level Googlers to contribute usefully to reach the 10th Level
