how do I change my username?

hi corrie, it's been a few months since this message, any updates on custom usernames? I would like to participate in the google local guides program but dont feel comfortable putting my last name out there so publicly

It looks like it's been a while since this post. Has the issue been revisited? (I've noticed some exceptions the "FirstL" format.)

It's been more than a month since this response was posted saying "There has been a lot of debate in the forums about whether we should continue this approach or allow custom usernames. We will revisit in the next month or so and see how its going."  However, there hasn't been a followup as far as I can tell.  Is this still being considered?   Thanks!

My username is showing up as TAQATOU whereas my username should be Taqato !! 

How can I edit my profile? I don't see any options or edits under profile.

Our Connect username is generated automatically based on our names in our Google account.

We cannot edit in Connect at the moment.

I suppose in the settings you could always change your First Name to "shorn" and your last name to "i" to generate the result you're seeking.

Not an official suggestion, of course. Just a theory.

Your Connect/Local Guide name is based on your Google account name. The only way to modify your LG name is to change your Google profile
