I have tried to share my photos & videos here on Connect but keep getting errors.
Connect does not accept .mp4 files?
Or my .jpg is too large.
Shouldn't Connect be able to automatically adopt the image by compressing it.

Hello @VBenedict , you can upload photos on Connect and you can Share videos that on You Tube for example , you can't upload Videos directly to connect 🙂

The photo size Must be less than 3 mb @VBenedict 🙂

Yes! No problem... so why Connect does not automatically compresses them? There exists reusable code that does this, no?
Otherwise, it should take me to Google Photo. Doesn't Google Photo automatically reduce the size of the image?

This is good idea to have a built-in compressor in the Connect , @VBenedict
This will save our time compressing and resizing Photos ,
About Google photo app, yeah it's reduce photo size but not always it's less than 3 mb , I backup my DSLR Photos with Google photos even after reduced the size more than 3 mb ,
In my opinion You have three options to reduce size
One use certain applications which save all metadata for the photo
2: use normal photo editor like Paint in Windows to reduce the size
3: which is my favorite just take screenshots of the photos you want to share on the Connect 🙂
@LucioV did you have any other solutions !?
😊😊😊

@VBenedict Lithium (the platform on which Connect is based) is telling you that MP4 is not a valid IMAGE format.
As this is a video format.
As @OSAMA told you you cannot upload directly videos on Connect; but you can upload to youtube, using the same G account, and then easily embed into Connect, using the Video button:
So your video will show here like this:
If you want a compressor (like Smush for wordpress) you could ask for it in Feedback and Feature Request board.
To show images without having to resize, you could use (as I do, because I've finished my images quota on connect) an external service, as like as https://imgur.com/ and insert your images using simple HTML code:
<img src="Image Address on imgur">
