Re: More Points and Levels

Hi @gsm0786 depends what kind of place it is, if it is a business or a point of interest like a tourist attraction then you can add them through the Maps App on your phone or desktop. If it is a road or area then the only way is to send feedback via the App for the attention of the Maps moderators. Let me know if you need detailed instructions.

Hai @gsm0786

As a Local Guide, you earn points for sharing reviews, photos, and knowledge on Google Maps. Those points lead to higher levels of the program, as well as benefits like early access to Google features and special perks.

Re: More Points and Levels

Hello @gsm0786

The new place to the map is taken as the missing place since it is missing there until and unless anybody adds the place on the map.

So how to add missing place? Please follow these steps:

Search for an address

  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Search for an address.
  3. Click Add a missing place.

Notes:

  • Name, location, and category of the place are required. Other attributes aren't required, but might help to speed up the review process.
  • To quickly find your home on the map, set your home address.
  • If you're using Maps in Lite mode, you can't add a missing place to Google Maps.

@Rameez

If you notice the map screen does not scroll or pan smoothly, you can try using a version of Google Maps called Lite mode. Sometimes, Lite mode will automatically open up if you’re using Google Maps:

  • In a mobile browser on your phone or tablet
  • In an older web browser on your computer
  • In an older operating system on your computer

Re: More Points and Levels

Hello @Rameez

A lite mode map is a bitmap image of a map at a specified location and zoom level. Lite mode supports all of the map types (normal, hybrid, satellite, terrain) and a subset of the functionality supplied by the full API. Lite mode is useful when you want to provide a number of maps in a stream, or a map that is too small to support meaningful interaction.

Users viewing the map cannot zoom or pan the map. Icons on the map give users access to viewing the map in the Google Maps mobile app and requesting directions.

Adding a lite mode map

Lite mode uses the same classes and interfaces as the full Google Maps Android API. You can set a GoogleMapto lite mode in the following ways:

  • Either as an XML attribute for a MapView or MapFragment
  • Or in the GoogleMapOptions object
