While the points system is something like a game, there are LocalGuides who understand it as a game itself. That promotes spam a lot. You can get hundreds of points in a very short time without thinking about quality and helpfulness.
On the other side there are loyal LocalGuides who support the program for many years. How can you reward them?
My suggestion is a loyalty bonus. They should get some perks or special points for helping over a long time.
And: There should be a limit to how many points you can earn per day. This should prevent a lot of spam.
