“Unfortunately I already have other plans then” or “I can’t get time off from work then” or “It’s too far away/too expensive for me to travel to Munich”. We ( @TorM , the host for the event and myself) have heard all of those phrases several times in the weeks leading up to #EuroMeetup2023, which will start in just a few days.(Some participants have even already started traveling.)
But we have figured out a way for local guides from all over the globe to take part anyway: on Saturday 24/06 (17:00 CEST - that’s UTC +1) we will host a virtual meetup where all local guides can join. One of the local guides (and all time LG star) who unfortunately had to use one of the phrases I quoted at the start of this post is @ErmesT , but he will be there for sure, as he will host the virtual meetup from his home in Treviso, Italy. He has also provided the form where you can sign up to participate:
During this virtual meetup, titled EuroMeetup 2023 Greets the World we will give an update on what has happened so far and you will be able to talk to the participants - including several Connect moderators, several Guiding Stars and even 3 Google moderators (who are attending the event as private persons, not as Google employees).
In the physical meetup in Munich, there will be participants from 16 different countries - I wonder how many additional countries we can get represented this way Let us know in the comments if you have signed up and which country you are from!

It is sad to attend this event. Although there is a direct flight from my city, I cannot come because the schools are not closed. I hope you have a fun and nice meeting. @JanVanHaver
@ErmesT very often my motto in life is “always look on the bright side of life” (you also hear some whistling in the back of you head now, right? ) , so although I was sad to find out that you would not be able to attend in person, I am glad now that we have found a way for you to meet & greet after all.

But if you are looking to a very Loooooooooooooong stick you should ask @LudwigGermany to bring his own too (do you remember that kind of Fishing pole he was using in Krakow to take 360?). It would be a great challenge for sure
