Hi, I’m mapping my father’s route through Europe during WWII. I’m putting a pin in for each day and have several questions about the technical aspects. Any chance to talk to text with someone about this? Thanks.
Hi @chipnoon
“Welcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect” This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community.
In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in the community
What you are doing is amazing, and there are a couple of perfect tools for you to do this:
- Google My-Maps , where you can create your own personal Maps, built over Google maps. You can add note, photos, pin and more. The map is shareable and you can give the permission to your friends to collaborate with you
- Google Earth , an incredibly visual experience to fly from point to point
Here for you an example of the use of the two programs for representing the same experience: Up and down on the Venetian Bridges
Please keep us updated about your experience
Do you have a doubt about how to do something? The Help desk is here for you, with a long list of post with detailed indications on how to post.
Which kind of contents we share in the community? What are Connect topics? will give you an explanation
Hello @chipnoon I may not be in Europe but I’d love to listen to your question
Hi Gideon, not sure what you mean by “listen” to my question. Can you explain? Thanks.
