Summer (July) is over now in the States, but I still remember beautiful days we spent outdoor in the parks. Since I have a small baby, the way we enjoy holiday is different from what we used to! We would find places that are suitable for both elders and babies and where babies’ concern more, like a park with space, with a playground and safety. Lake Washington is vast and surrounded by forest and parks. There were so many people went out during the days or weekends just to enjoy the sun and the swim in the lake.
There are also pubs where you can sit out and enjoy the drinks and watch the sun goes down until like 9-10pm before it is getting dark.
The first time I visited the lake (in Winter and in Covid-time) I did not really have an impression because it looked a normal lake. I did not have the full view of what this lake could provide to its visitors. However, Summer and Spring the lake seems like a totally different area and attraction. You get to see the parks, the playgrounds, the picnic areas and swimming areas. You can even walk your dogs in the parks.
In Summer, people go out more and enjoy the outdoor more. The park is more colorful and a lively place to be. People went out and the parking space were always so full. There are uncountable activities during this time. You could watch the Blue Angel Show during summer from the park, you could get your yachts out, sailed them deep into the lake surface, enjoyed dancing and music during the sunny days.
Lake Washington is one of the most attracted parks in the areas in Summer and Spring.
What a beautiful post @Sophia_Cambodia . Loved seeing your baby enjoying the sight of the lake and the geese. I hope he is not scared of them. Geese can be very mean if they feel threatened.
Yes, summer is over. Winter is knocking at the door. I like this time of the year. Especially when summer is over 100 F in Texas, you can’t help falling in love with any other season but summer.
What time is sunset nowadays in Seattle? I couldn’t help being curious reading your sentence “enjoy the drinks until like 9-10pm before it is getting dark.” Yes, summer days are that long here too. It gets dark here now by 6.30ish.
Oh dear, it is getting dark by 4:30-5:30pm now when winter is approaching @SoniaK.
Some mountains and skiing areas were announced to be closed already here in Seattle because of heavy snow.
Thank you @SebaasC it is a lovely day to go out during Summer. You posted a lovely post as well. I never understood how enjoyable Summer can be for residents until I come here because back home, we have sun all the time. However, now in the States it is getting a lot colder. These days the sky is getting darker from 4pm.
