Why I don’t get notification after visiting places while using iOS?

I’ve been wondering why I don’t notification after visiting places while using iOS.
I’ve missed a lot of updates and points

is this for Android only?

When i was using an Android phone i used to get popup notifications and emails for place I visited just to let me know so i can contribute. But now i use iPhone and I don’t get the notifications even if I used GPS for the location I don’t get the notifications

Hi @Levison

It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.

@MashaPS won’t se your reply if not tagged. Now she will

First I would like to inform you that I took your question and replies out of the thread it was posted in because it was not related to the topic there. Now it is a standalone thread in How-tos section of Connect with a relevant heading.

Since you mentioned you have enabled your history settings on your device, then I would recommend checking the settings listed here - Turn Google Maps notifications on or off:

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
Tap Notifications, Google Maps.
Turn on Allow Notifications.

Just as a reminder, don’t forget when responding to others make sure to tag them (by writing @ before their names) in a post so they can receive notifications that you are communicating with them.

I have the same problem. I don’t receive the prompt to answer questions or to review places after visiting a place. All the notifications of the app were already turned on.

Is the option to answer questions is restricted to android devices only ?

Currently Ask and answer questions about a place is available for Android devices and desktop.

Please also keep in mind that during the unprecedented COVID-19 situation, steps are taken to protect the health of the team members and prioritize critical services. As a result, there may be some temporary limitations and delays in how you can contribute to Maps.
