What is the most interesting thing you've done as a Local Guide?

Hello Everyone!
This is Fahad Shafin from Dhaka, Bangladesh and this is my first post in LGC.

One day I was taking some photographs of our neighborhood for posting it to GMaps. That time one elderly person who was the owner of that apartment building came to me and asked, why was I taking photographs without his prior permission. Then I made him clear regarding the issue. He actually did not know about the process. But when I did, he was so astonished that he could search for or go to any places or nearby places of his destinations without asking any person. He then tried through his mobile and almost every landmarks and known places were open to him in the GMap.

He praised all of the Local Guides in front of me, and told he would try his level best to contribute from his part.

Now he is also a Local Guide and having crossed his level 4.

I think, adding more active local guides to our community is the most interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide.

Hello @FahadShafin You might have wondered what happened to the first post you wrote, as that all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, it was accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here). I have now released it and merged it with your other post, to avoid that your Connect account would get flagged as spammer.

The result is that the content of your first post is now added as a comment to your second post. If you want, you can remove the content of that comment by clicking the ‘…’ at the bottom of the comment and then simply removing the content there (or replace it with something like “content removed as it was an accidental duplicate”).

Hi @FahadShafin ,

It seems that you’ve shared a post for your Connect Live 2020 application. Keep in mind, one of the requirements is to share your post on Local Stories, so I’ve moved your post there, thanks.

Feel free to have a look at the application guidelines and find some handy tips for creating an application post.
