Here are some cool things you can do to help a women-owned business near you flourish using Maps and Google My business :
- Add Photos : Take apt photos of the place to show how is the ambience , hygiene / COVID measures , Menu /Add-on services, Products they sell or food photos in case of restaurants and to show accessibility / other features. Do take consent before doing so !
- Rating and review : Give proper rating and detailed review to encourage the women-led business. She may do a happy dance when she sees so make sure you write a good one! In case if you were not satisfied with your experience with that business, talk to the staff or owner and suggest what they can improve rather than dropping a negative review upfront as it may really affect their business.
- Contribute Tab : Check the facts and Answer questions using Maps to keep the women-led business information updated on Maps.
- Do Map edits : You can help a women-led business by marking a place closed or move(Deduplication, update location, business closed or move?, re-open business).You can even add pending/updated details to the business like category, hours, contact #,etc.)
- Create lists : You can create useful lists to help women-led businesses near you and share them with friends , family and the community to help the women led local business near you ! Here is a list I created to which shows some of the women-led businesses in/around Mumbai !
- In case if the local business is not yet on Maps, you can add the new business on Maps and help the owner to add details of her business.
