Warning - - New Camera - - Maps overload imminent

This is a warning I will be adding LOTS of new images to Maps - I’ve just got a new camera so busy learning how to use it I’ve never owned a Canon before.

We start our Journey in February returning Home in May through France (from Ouistreham) into Spain then down to Alicante Region hoping to add many new pictures of Tourist attractions, Restaurant reviews, Museums, and Wildlife

Welcome to Connect, @Madcaravanner
A new camera is always an exciting experience. What kind of Canon do you have?
Just a tip from my experience when I started using a Sony, a bridge camera with an incredibly powerful zoom (55/1200 mm).
I started taking a lot of photos, and the temptation to upload them all to Maps was very strong. Luckily I had a good mentor, Paul, who made me understand that the important thing is to carefully choose the photos to upload, avoiding similar photos. So I started studying the rules of Maps, and I learned that uploading similar photos is not allowed, as well as uploading the same images more than once or in more than one place.
So I advise you to use it with care and upload to Maps carefully.
Maps doesn’t help us with this, and sometimes it advises us to upload photos that we have already uploaded. That’s why I advise you to check your profile, because from what I see this has happened to you too.
Why don’t you tell us something about your travels? Connect is the right place to do it, and if you need some tips you can read Traveling Like a Local - How To write a traveling post
