A fortnight ago I visited London Eye for the very first time. It was a rainy day and my tour was followed by visiting a river boat tour over Thames river. I observed highest number of reviews ( till now 91,634) in Google maps ever for this place.
I have a real fear of heights, standing over an observation tower makes me sick. Although after reaching the final altitude I can able to control my fear. The same thing happened in 2015 when I visit Niagara observation tower, and for this reason I bypassed Ferris wheal tour in Las Vegas (Worldâs largest).
Anyway this time I planned to visit London eye without fear. The height is 443 feet (135 meters). The good thing about London Eye is it moves very slowly. The best part of ride is when the capsule you are in reaches the very top spot of the wheel. It gives an awesome full 360 view of the city. The time when I visited was raining but it couldnât make any trouble for us to seeing outside.
I really enjoyed taking the ride, took some 360 photos. After the ride I bought a Key chain and small magnet as souvenirs. If you are first time traveler to London I would definitely recommended that you donât miss London Eye ride.
@DrShaunak You are so brave. Iâm afraid of height too. But I agree that the view from the top is so amazing. Thank you for sharing this post with us.
@DrShaunak Glad you managed to conquer your fear of heights and did the London Eye! And it looks like youâve experienced UKâs glorious weather; one moment blue skies, the next cloudy and raining! Lol! Yeah, itâs a shame I couldnât take time off work to meet you! London is very nice and thereâs so much to see too! Hope to see you back!
Thank you for tagging me in this post. My eyes and my heart are always happy when I see some iconic places in London. I have to confess that I am scared of heights too, and another reason why I didnât try the London Eye itâs because in my opinion itâs quite expensive. Usually when I want to have a pretty cool view of the city I am going to Regents Park, which has a really cool atmosphere and itâs located in one of my favourite part of London.
