Venice, Italy's masterpiece

They all say it is too touristic and it smells bad and overrated!

They are all wrong. It is just a masterpiece. It is wonderful, magical, romantic. It is VENICE!

I fall in love from the first sight, the moment I went out of the train station and saw this beauty!

It is unique.

We stayed in CA’Angeli a very authentic hotel, we had to walk a little bit from the train station with the bags, we could have taken a water bus but we decided to walk. It was a long walk with the bags but it was worth it.

We were confused if we do the gondola ride or no! But then we said it won’t count if we didn’t do it!

We paid 60 euros for a private ride of 40 minutes!

And then the view from Campanile di San Marco!!! The ticket is for 5 euros and there is a lift to get to the top, with no stairs. I stayed like 40 minutes enjoying the view.

There is a lot of street food and a lot of fancy restaurants.

We tried both. I preferred the street food. You just go grab a pasta from Dal Moro or a black pizza from Farini and sit by the river.

What I want to say is that Venice is not a touristic trap or a crowded city. It is just BEAUTIFUL!

Well, sometimes Venice is very crowded, and some places (sob) is a trap for tourist, but if you handle it with care, it can be an unforgettable experience.

You should go to Venice during the Carnival to understand the meaning of crowd

But there are places and views that you can see only there

Beautiful post indeed! I really enjoyed reading it. I was in Venice a long long time ago so I definitely wouldn’t mind going again. It does have it’s charm and no matter the tourists or smell, it’s Venice. There is no other place like it.

@Ant_Bad_Yogi It tastes good. I can say it has a different taste than the normal one but it is not smoky.

It is black because they put carbon in it.

@DanniS I stayed for 2 days. I loved the vibes, the people, the food and for sure the SPRITZ. It is my new summer drink! While we were there there was a big celebration for the 100 years of Aperol spritz. it was very nice to be there that day!

@CatherineKh Oh the Spritz!!! I love that drink as well. How cool is to experience a Spritz day? Wow, I wish I was there too. Each summer I get the aperol sprtiz, it’s so yummy. I bet they had different kinds of tastes?

Kudos to you. Your pictures and the whole post was a great recap of your experience in Venice. Was it the first city that you have visited in Italy or you have been to other places? I was intrigued about the black pizza, as I have never tried it before. How does it taste? Do you know which kind of ingredients is prepared with?
