The State Bhawans and the State Guest Houses in Delhi are the best places to have authentic thalis of that state. We recently went to Tamil Nadu House for the authentic thali from TN
The Podhigai restaurant reopened recently after being closed for two months.
The place is very popular and one has to wait for at least fifteen minutes before finding a seat and again for 20 to 30 minutes before food is served
But the wait is worth because the thali is good and served with rasam, Sambhar and curry all in TN style

I have heard a lot about the food at Tamil Nadu house. Being a fan of Andhra Bhavan food, I have had food at that place since the last twenty five years. I will certainly try this delicious looking thali very soon. Thanks @curatorofmemory

I am aware of the Stat Bhawan in Delhi @curatorofmemory , but that they allow entry to common people, let alone food, is new to me.
