Valparai

Valparai is a hill station located in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. Although it is located in Tamil Nadu, most of the tourists who visit the place are Malayalees. Valparai is located at an altitude of about 2000 m in the middle of the Munnar Hills. Valparai is also known for its biodiversity … Poonachimala, formerly known as Poonachimala. Chinna Kallar in Valparai is said to be the third wettest place in India and the first wettest place in Tamil Nadu.

Many of us may have traveled to Valparai many times, but a good number of those who go there regularly go and return only to places that are frequented by well-known people … Many people wonder what to see in Valparai !!! I will reply that everything in Valparai is a sight to behold … but it was only when the number of people asking that question increased that I realized that many people used to return to Valkappara after seeing the views of Malakappara, Upper Sholayar Dam, Valparai town and the tea gardens on the way … Poonchola and Balaji Temple can be seen here … but they are not even a small part of the sights of Valparai …

We can reach Valparai via Athirappilly in Kerala and Aliyar in Tamil Nadu. The 50KM trek through the road, which is arguably the best forest trail in Kerala, and the possibility of seeing wildlife is the main reason why people choose Malakkappara. The Elephanta - Sholayar Forest is one of the most densely forested areas in Kerala. If you are on the Aliyar Road, you will have to climb forty hairpin bends to reach Valparai. There are also tourists who choose that route, and on the way through Aliyar it is possible to see the stripes … The view from the hairpin bend on the way to Valparai, between the Aliyar Dam and the road between the hills in the middle of the hills below is breathtaking …

There are many places to see in Valparai with beautiful tea gardens, forest and coffee plantations, waterfalls, view points and wildlife … We can not see the whole of Valparai in one day സ്റ്റേ If we stay for at least two days we can see the important places in Valparai in peace to some extent. When choosing, it is advisable to opt for places a short distance away from Valparai town … Kurangumudi, Gajamudi, Thalanar and Manampilly in Valparai are still very inaccessible to people … You can only go to Thalanar and Manampilly with permission …

Hi @Zayanrayan

Welcome to Connect :handshake:

It was nice reading your description and experience about Valparai in Tamilnadu.

Seems to be a very exciting place.

I have never heard about this place before though I know Yercaud very well.

I would like to bring attention to our @TravellerG who is also from this region and can guide you on including photos in your posts on Connect.

Hi @Zayanrayan ,
