Upholding Sustainability during Mumbai Meetup

During the recent meetup in Mumbai, our host @Shrut19 insisted on stopping by at her favorite food joint called the Green Channel.

Their famous dishes were Coriander Vadi and Piyush.
Piyush is a variety of diluted Shrikhand.

We decided to support this local business because they are dedicated to sustainability.

Piyush came with a paper straw as seen in the photo above.

Also, we ordered Idli that was served in glassware with steel spoons.

The Coriander Vadi was also served in steel containers.

Here’s the storefront photo of this local business that upheld sustainability.

Did you recently visit a local business that supported sustainability?

This post is in response to the challenge by Dr. @K.K.Sharma about Celebrating the #Sustainability Tag on Connect.

And also in response to the Celebrate International Plastic Free Day, by @Rahul001.

Thank you so much dear @TusharSuradkar ji for this wonderful contribution in response to the sustainability tag challenge! :seedling:

I’m truly delighted to see how your meetup in Mumbai beautifully integrated sustainability — from choosing a local eco-conscious eatery like Green Channel to highlighting plastic-free serving practices. These small but powerful choices reflect a deep sense of responsibility and awareness, perfectly aligned with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 13: Climate Action. :recycling_symbol::leaf_fluttering_in_wind:

Special thanks to @Shrut19 ji for leading with purpose and showing how Local Guides can be changemakers while enjoying local flavors! Looking forward to more such inspiring stories where taste, travel, and sustainability go hand in hand. :folded_hands::globe_showing_europe_africa::green_heart:

That’s nice addition of sustainability during the meetup @TusharSuradkar .

Idli with side dish is absolutely delicious to look upon and tends make it unique by having sustainable options.

Vadi looks like Brownie with ice cream though . I never seen a vadi having a square shape.

Excellent observation @Rahul001
Yes, the brownie is usually round, but the vadi is spicy, and they make it square.
A good way to visually differentiate between tastes

What a thoughtful choice and a great example of how we can support sustainability in simple yet impactful ways. It’s so encouraging to see businesses like Green Channel taking real steps—no plastic, reusable serving ware, and even paper straws with traditional drinks like Piyush. :folded_hands:

The name of this place itself symbolizes sustainability. No wonder why this is a favorite food joint of @Shrut19.

The presentation of food in eco friendly utensils and containers looks yummy and mouth watering. I must give this credit to the one who shot these photos.

And, to my best guess, it is you only @TusharSuradkar. Nice post indeed to support local business and sustainability.
