I will forward this information to the responsible team so they can look into it. If your reviews don’t violate our policies, they will be reinstated once the investigation is over. Have in mind that this may take some time.
P.S.: Just to let you know, as to keep Connect organized, I merged your post to this ongoing discussion, as it is about the same topic.
I can’t understand whats wrong, what kind of bug is this and is there any point in continuing to write reviews because of new reviews aren’t published, and the old ones disappear after my updates.
I left a very short review and I can’t think of any reason it is being shadow banned. Where can I read which guidelines I am being accused of breaking?
Also, why shadow ban to begin with? Either post it publicly OR inform the user that their review won’t be posted. Anything else is just being deceitful towards the user.
You can also check whether your reviews are really being shadowbanned or not by activate Incognito Mode in your Maps and check the review you’ve shared in a particular place. If you cannot see your review (while in incognito mode), it probably your review has being shadowbanned and be hidden.
I already confirmed the shadow banning through the method you described, before I made this post. So this much I can confirm.
Regarding the reason, I had already looked at the post you linked and it describes multiple reason’s why it MIGHT be shadow banned (or “flagged” as google calls it, which still doesnt take away from my point that what they are doing is purposfully deceiving, but thats a totally different discussion). I don’t see any guideliness I might have broken. Is there a way I can find what the algorithm has deemed “wrong”?
You’re welcome, @FactoryReset . In Connect you’re suggested to tag/mention the user you want to interact with by type @ and followed by his/her username.
Back to topic. Unfortunatelly, in my experience, there’s no way Google will tell you what’s the exact rules you’ve violated. If the algorithm feels you’ve violating something, they will ban you. But…, it’s your job to find out yourself what is it, which content that violating the rules, what rule you’ve violate (eventhough you feel that you’ve done nothing wrong). Sometimes the algorithm could be extra sensitive. Wkwkkk…
(Out of topic: actually here in Indonesia there’s a famous joke about it. Really funny. But, unfortunatelly, I better not share that joke here)
Good luck next time. So sorry for what was happened to your review.
After reading your comment and the responses by @iorikun301 I sense that you may be caught up in a known issue about Unpublished reviews and photos on Google Maps and for this reason I’m letting you know that to keep Connect organized, I merged your post to this ongoing discussion, and also flagging @TsekoV for further action.
Unfortunately all my new reviews (~20 or so) are hidden again. After the account is looked into, the former ones come back (except for one last time, which I’ve since re-written), but unfortunately any additional new reviews are still being marked as private.
Could I kindly request my account to be looked into again? Hopefully we’ll have a permanent fix soon!
Would you please help?
I am a local guide level 8 in France
and lately 4 of my reviews were removed because they were supposedly fake or they were supposedly not respecting a rule. They were 1 review of a medical laboratory (Labo Oriade in Annemasse, France) , 5 stars and 2 reviews about do-it-yourself stores (Leroy Merlin, Entrepot du Bricolage in Ville-La-Grand France 5 stars) and But (a furniture store) 4 stars.
How could I prevent this from happening in the future, as they were sincere reviews ?
Thank you
I can confirm from your public profile that you have added 768 reviews and only 700 of them are public.
As you know, Google has automatic filters that hide your reviews so only you can see them. This can happen when some of your reviews violate the guidelines, including: Prohibited and Restricted Content Format Specific Criteria (See under Text Reviews and Captions)
Read about typical review guideline violations here.
Currently, your issue might not be your fault. Read: Known issue: Unpublished reviews and photos on Google Maps. And, please make a reply there and request your account also be investigated. You can mention that 68 og your reviews are hidden.
In terms of prevention, there is nothing else but study and follow the guidelines for reviews.
@cora74100 old mate @MortenCopenhagen has given you a decent answer, if you’d like to PM me the review text (or post it here) then I’d be happy to see if I can spot anything or offer feedback.
I had a look yesterday and what I did (as I am buying furniture and all materials to redesign my appartement was to post all the photos I took , even the one with prices … so, may be it was considered as publicity, right? Could be that one for the stores ?
I will pm you the text of the texts
But for the ledical analysis lab it was just a simple plain review without photo,
