UPDATED: Known issue: Unpublished reviews and photos on Google Maps

Hi @Md_ylmaz

You have added two reviews and they are both public.

Please elaborate what kind of help you expected.

Cheers

Morten

@Md_ylmaz , according to your previous reply, you did it with another Account and, in this reply, @Bobiisha already explained to you that “having two accounts is against our rules**, therefore I kindly ask you to delete one of the accounts

To keep Connect organised I will merge this post in there.

Please do not start a new post when a conversation is ongoing. This will not help to fix your issue

Hi @skarama ,

I understand this can be frustrating, but our teams are doing their best to resolve the situation. Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter!

Seems to have resolved itself, thanks to the community, there’s a lot of good people in the world. All the best, LJ

I’ve made this same comment so many times in this megathread and not a single person has even noticed.

Several of my reviews have become permanently hidden after editing them. Doesn’t matter if the review is completely blank.

What should I do?

Hi @victor35

This issue is ongoing and has not been resolved. In the meantime we are helpless. Like you, I have patience.

I understand that there is anger in media blackouts around the world. We don’t have to deny that anger. But now, being calm is our contribution as a Top Local Guides.

I have written a perfectly genuine and sincere review of a café in Perpignan, where I am on holiday. It has been rejected, with a suggestion that it is fake. I don’t understand why this is. Can the review be restored, please? The place in question is Café Catalogne, Perpignan.

Hello.

reviews and ratings are not published in maps

I have several accounts, they are not published on any.

What can you do with this?

Hi @7734205

I can confirm from your public profile that you have added 12 reviews and only 8 of them are public.

Google has automatic filters that hide your reviews so only you can see them. This can happen when some of your reviews violate the guidelines, including:
Prohibited and Restricted Content
Format Specific Criteria (See under Text Reviews and Captions)

Read about typical review guideline violations here.

Currently, your issue might not be your fault. Read: Known issue: Unpublished reviews and photos on Google Maps. And, please make a reply there and request your account also be investigated eventhough the post claims the problem is fixed.

Best of luck
Morten

Hey @FreddieRainbow !

Welcome to the Local Guides program and welcome to Connect! A bit of a shame that a negative experience brought you here to Connect but hopefully we can help you with your query.

Firstly, a bit of a disclaimer, Connect Moderators (like myself) don’t work for Google and we just help to moderate this community. Each of us have our own passions and “skills”, so the point is, I may not be the best person but I’ll certainly try my best to help out.

Next, can you still see your review? If you can, do share a link to it so that we can take a look and see what could possibly trigger the rejection.

Unfortunately, you won’t get a direct answer from Google for why your review got rejected. It’s to ensure that real spammers don’t start to learn through the rejections on how to game Google’s flagging system. They will most likely share tips on how to write reviews. You can check out my tips here too.

Lastly, you can check out the Help Desk if you have any other issues/problems too and there are some really helpful information there too, all from the Google team, like these:

The issue has been resolved according to the Google team which appears to me that that’s saying we are being at least partially ignored.

So I am a high level reviewer but none of my reviews show up publicly. How do I fix this and how do I get my posts public again

Hi @Keepfight10

Welcome to Connect. Nice to meet you!

To make you feel at home I suggest you take a look at Your Guide to Connect (it’s a quick introduction to our community) and feel free to introduce yourself here.

If you have questions, try using the search field at the top first. Then check the Help desk documents and What are Connect topics before asking a new question in the How-to section.

You are not suspended.

I can confirm from your public profile that you have added 186 reviews and only 169 of them are public.

Google has automatic filters that hide your reviews so only you can see them. This can happen when some of your reviews violate the guidelines, including:

Format Specific Criteria (See under Text Reviews and Captions)

Read about typical review guideline violations here.

If you need to identify which of your reviews are hidden please see this useful tip by my friend @C_T.

Currently, your issue might not be your fault. Read: Known issue: Unpublished reviews and photos on Google Maps. And, please make a reply there and request your account also be investigated. Even though it claims to be fixed, many LGs still have this problem.

Best of luck

I noticed that you uploaded a photo of a dog to more than one pin. This is against the guidelines.

Cheers

Hi @FreddieRainbow

A review is made private when it violates the Maps User Contributed Content Policy The the algorithm of the filter is working on keywords, because they can be interpreted as spam, or in comparing the content with what available online about a place. Is it possible that you get “inspired” by some other content about the places?

Making your review visible again is indeed possible, by modifying and republishing it, as you can read here below

Fixing your issue

As you can read in Flag and fix inappropriate content "If a review you wrote has been flagged and removed, you can fix it yourself. Edit your review to follow Google review policies — for example, you might remove a phone number or URL from the review. Your review will be automatically republished.

Google uses automated spam detection measures to remove reviews that are probably spam. Although legitimate reviews are sometimes inappropriately removed, these spam prevention measures help improve people’s experiences on Google by ensuring that the reviews they see are authentic, relevant, and useful."

So please try to edit your reviews to make them public again

Hello.

I have several accounts, they are not published on any. Neither text reviews nor grades without text are published

What can i do with this? Thank you

Hi, again. My problem is still not solved. My comments are not showing. I deleted and rewrote them all. It doesn’t appear again. I don’t know what else to do. I’ve been struggling with this for days. I guess I’ve been banned forever by maps. I’m still waiting patiently. Because being a local guide requires it :// :muscle:

Thank you!

Hello,

I have recently started leaving Google reviews under my account/email for a variety of different businesses – I am NOT the owner nor employee of any. I’ve posted 11 reviews but only 3 are showing publicly. The 8 not showing are businesses located in the town I reside in while the other 3 are from places visited while traveling. I have done lots of research into the subject – and can 100% confirm after reading Google’s Terms, that the reviews do NOT violate ANY TERMS WHATSOEVER!! (No cussing/bad language, no URL links, no spam, no duplicate reviews, not an employee, etc etc.) The reviews are POSITIVE AND COMPLIMENTARY! What’s going on? How can I tell if my account has been suspended?

Hi, @AshleyMT

I’m sorry for what was happened to you.

Google could reject/hide content because Google’s (AI) feels that the content has violating policy (https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7400114?hl=en&ref_topic=7422769 ).

But, as far as I know, they won’t tell you the reason why your content has been rejected (which rules are being violated) or even give you notification about it. What you can do is, imho, contemplating what you’ve done wrong. Google’s AI is only machine. It can make mistakes. It’s not worthy to get angry to machine.

According to this post (https://support.google.com/local-guides/answer/9357234?hl=en ), if you don’t find a Local Guides badge on your profile and can’t sign in to post on Local Guides Connect, you may have been removed from the Local Guides program. Because you can still post on Connect, so you’re not being suspended.
