We visited Vatican City on a Wednesday, first we visited the Vatican Museums and The Sistine Chapel. Then to Basilica di San Pietro. Since it was Wednesday we were able to join the Papal Audience. We were able to get a glimpse of pope as well. It was a pretty overcast and rainy day, I was able to capture this dramatic image in front of St Peter’s Basilica.
Here is a shot of Pope on a big screen!

The “Must-Sees of Vatican City”
-
St. Peter’s Basilica: One of the largest churches in the world and a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. Don’t miss Michelangelo’s Pietà or the chance to climb the Dome for a panoramic view of Rome that will leave you breathless.
-
The Vatican Museums: Home to one of the most extensive art collections on the planet. From the Gallery of Maps (which feels like walking through a golden tunnel) to the Raphael Rooms, every inch is covered in history.
-
The Sistine Chapel: The crown jewel. Standing under Michelangelo’s ceiling is a bucket-list moment. Note: Absolute silence is required, and photography is strictly forbidden here!
-
The Vatican Gardens: A tranquil oasis that covers nearly half the country. It’s only accessible via a guided tour, making it a perfect escape from the crowds.
Here is a shot of St Peter’s Square.
Shot of the Square end of the day, when all the crowd has disappeared.
Here are few shots of inside the St Peter’s Basilica.
