I love to eat food, and travel long distances just to try a new location or hotspot for food and drinks.
However I do have some favorite locations that I return to all the time in Gothenburg; Sweden.
Gothenburg has a very big food and drink scene, even if its a smaller city compared to other metropolitan cities.
It also has a great variety, in terms of ethnicity and flavors.
1) Divan, Turkish restaurant, and Grill spot.
This is by far one of my best places to eat/dine/lunch at. They have year by year (at least the latest 10 years) delivered high quality lunch/dinner without exception.
I have lived in Turkey and travelled over 5 times back to different locations in Turkey, and I can confirm that these guys deliver, many times, better quality, flavor and delivery than Turkish restaurants in Turkey.
2) Saigon Foods. Asian Resturant.
Inside one of the biggest malls in Gothenburg, down the stairs is a big Supermarket that sells all kinds of food from Asia. In the same local they also sell food from Vietnam, Thailand and China.
They have springrolls, fried dumplings, amazing Pho, Pad Thai, and one of my favorites: Simple but wonderful Fried Rice. You can also spice it up with different bacteria killing hot sauces, dried chili or Sriracha.
3) Ölstugan Tullen, pub and Restaurant.
I am not such a big fan of beer, unless its 36 degrees (Celsius) outside and its on a tropical beach, but I heard of this location that sell typical Swedish homegrown food. I tried it during 2 weekends, and I am in love with it. They offer a fixed a la carte menu, but also dishes that visit from time to time.
4) Wei Wei Asian Eatery, Chinese Restaurant.
Also located in the same mall as Saigon Foods is this very small Chinese Restaurant that offers some great gems in their a la carte menu. Such as the eggplant dish with Hoisin Sauce, and spicy peanut bits.
They also have great combos for lunch.
5) Bar Centro and Espresso bar.
This last location is not a Restaurant per say, but they deserve a position in this post, because they do offer great Focaccia and amazing Espressos. They offer wine and Prosecco as well.
