Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Videos (March, 2026)

Not sure, I saw the first views after more than year, but definitely after many months, @tony_b.

P.S. Just found a place where I posted several photos on March 2, 2024. Three of them (photos of menu lists) got the first 5 views 474 resp. 477 days later. Now having 172, 390 and 525 views.

Many menu list were “semi hidden” for a long time, but eventually appeared under a specific tab “Menu”. But I found more where the first views appeared after more than 356 days.
Obviously more rarely for photo posted before Feb 7, 2024, but I have seen those too. Some with almost two years of the first increase after end of 2023.

Yes this is an interesting point @StevenBerlin and like @tony_b has mentioned, it has been the subject of discussion before and different strategies have been adopted by some like @TerryPG. The points you raise are valid and I was going to reply here but felt that the Video Leaderboards isn’t the right place however, I have replied here.

@PrasadVR there is litterraly no way for me to find hidden photos. If they ever implement that, those would be the only photos I would ever delete.

It is indeed a difficult task @StevenBerlin. You have 22000 photos and I have less than 2000, so I can see the size of your challenge.

I really love your photo @Annaelisa

Thanks for the heads up @AdamGT. That glitch wasn’t there 4 days ago, so I wonder what changed? I’ll give it a few days, and if it doesn’t resolve on its own, I will try to putz with it.

I suspect you’ve fallen victim to the same change that affected me @rmackman. Connect has cut the number of characters allowed in a signature by half. The hidden HTML behind the Brick in the Wall is a lot of characters. Together with the other elements in your signature, you’ve now perhaps exceeded the allowed total and it messes with the Brick. I had to remove my oldest and least relevant badge to get mine to work. Your signature is structured differently, but I’m sure you can find a way to circumvent the new constraints.

@tony_b’s theory might well be right given that it worked before but failed sometime later. A simple test to prove Anthony’s theory one way or the other is to move your brick to the front. If it appears and something else drops off then you’ll have your answer.

Not my theory really. Take a read of this topic Did You Notice the Updated Character Limit for Signature on Connect? posted by @Kumaarsantosh

I just tested by moving the Brick from the end to the beginning, and it caused a different badge to display incorrectly instead. Then I took the HTML of the whole signature and followed a suggestion by @WilfriedB to paste it into a character counter. It is 563 characters, thus confirming it exceeds the new 500 limit.

There are pros and cons for this character limit change @tony_b and I’ve seen many comments where the signatures contain much more content than the comments themselves. I believe in less is more here and reduced clutter leads to better clarity…there’s power in that HUB

Yes, I’ve seen that on every public forum I ever participated in. In my case, I didn’t have any extraneous text, just a few badges. But now I’ve learnt that badges count as HTML text characters.

I think I hear what you’re saying, and I see many LGs have transitioned to just the hub and nothing else. I guess we’ll all be driven in that direction eventually. But I doubt I’ll be clicking on anybody’s hub, to click the link to their Connect profile, to click their Badge tab, to see what badges they’ve earned.
