@JustJake yes it’s super quick and easy however, no matter how hard I try to make it as simple, easy and as fast as possible to update, some just don’t which together with the fact that many just don’t bother to check them when they are eventually published, for me is the most disheartening part of preparing and posting the Leaderboards.
Hello @Murat
Seems to me your comment should be posted in Google Maps tips and tricks category.
It’s yet another one of your lovely photos @WilfriedB. As you will know, I only pick the best photos to feature and love doing so. Thank you for your description, details which I plan to embellish on.
With the gradual shift in focus to video, the video boards are certainly growing in their importance @TerryPG and I only wish I had the time to join in that endeavour
I’m sorry that your star didn’t make it onto the Top 100 Star Video Average Views/Day board however as stated in the readme, perhaps not so clearly, and I must add this was the subject of lengthy discussion with with everyone including @Mikeinthefalls respect to star photos many moons ago, to be included in this leaderboard, you must have updated your star video ’s views in the two months prior to the current. Hence as you suspected it’s because your star video is new. However, it’s great to hear that your star video has gone somewhat viral so this, we can expect to see it on the Average Views/Day leaderboard in the coming months. Hang in there!
ps: With some 80 individual boards, each having its own specific rules/constraints, I’m sure you will appreciate how intricate and involved it is to create them. With all this and the data of thousands of Local Guides, it’s easy for errors to creep in and this highlights the importance that everyone checks the leaderboards when they are posted so thank you for your part in this checking.
Yes the numbers are important @Annaelisa and as I have explained in my reply to @TerryPg, so is when these numbers are updated.
When it comes to questions like this, always check the Links section on the Leaderboard System’s General menu item.
Congratulations on having a new star video @tony_b. As you have suspected and is the case with @TerryPG, it is because of the reason explained in detail in my reply to Terry and as such, it’s because yours is a new star video.
I totally agree with you @katydarhel and it’s nice to see that you are reading and commenting on the discussion
Yes and that’s precisely what the mathematics indicates. For the nerds amongst us, the new Pro dashboard to be released on the Leaderboard System and now in alpha testing, includes some powerful new features to help show and regularly monitor this.
Yes it should as I think it happened in my own case with my star video and this will hopefully be visible to all in the Top 100 Star Video Average Views/Day board in the coming months.
Looks like @AdamGT needs to revisit the readme and add some clarification @tony_b however in any case, as you will have seen by now, he has given an explanation for it here

I couldn’t find my name under average views leaderboard as well @TerryPG and @tony_b.
And I also had I new star vídeo and also followed all the updated process as usual.
As you said, hope @AdamGT can support us in this matter.
Yet another new star video!! It must be the month of new stars Congratulations on your new star video @efcxp and yes @AdamGT and as you will see his detailed reply to @TerryPG here, he has supported everyone in this matter

I’m missing from the average view per day
Did I miss something@AdamGT
Oh no! Another missing star video @Trail_blazer. No one leave until we find it Does the explanation given to @TerryPG here help explain it?

Hint #2": Once you find your star, to find it again, do some scrolling and then search for the name of the POI.
Nice tips @Rednewt74. Thank you for sharing and for helping @StevenBerlin with this.

Congrats, and good info to see and see. One again, has me thinking about the approach to how to start a video and end a video. That was my line of thinking over the last few weeks on holiday. So far, top listings and many views.
Thank you and glad to see that you’re enjoying the boards @snieckarz

Wow! Thank you very much @AdamGT happy to be helpful even with a short video like this.
Thanks for the remainder about Julie´s challenge!
Well done @Silvi. Given Julie’s International Burger Day challenge, your star video was a great and timely example of a video to feature this month!

sort by date not views. Scroll enough to get back to 9 months or a year ago and that should do it. The
I have to say @tony_b that I also wondered about @Rednewt74’s suggestion on sorting by date. It’s just that I don’t have the number of videos to be able to test it.

Nice tips @Rednewt74. Thank you for sharing and for helping @StevenBerlin with this.
Yes i found my star video. Lol. For me, this is a big experience but i did it. Then i screenshot it to save that location name, then found my next two highest viewed videos and wrote down their names, date posted! Yay me. The tech dummy in the room
To @Trail_blazer @tony_b @efcxp and @Annaelisa
below I have attached direct notes from the “read Me Section”
Hope this clarifies a little..

- As well as an overall leaderboard, you will see leaderboards for different Local Guide levels which provide you with direct comparisons of your star video’s performance with that of your peers. Finally, there’s a leaderboard ranking the top 100 star videos by average star views per day which gives an indication on how good your star video is. To be included in this leaderboard, you must have updated your star video’s views in the period since the date of the last average star views per day leaderboard as posted here on Connect last month.
- The average star views per day is calculated by dividing the star views by the life of the star video expressed in days. The life of the star video is equal to the number of days between when you first uploaded your star video on Maps and the date that you last updated the star views and thus, will be different for each participating Local Guide. Therefore, for accuracy of the information it is important that you enter the correct dates. When it comes to the date that you last updated the star views, point #2 above is very important.

to be included in this leaderboard, you must have updated your star video ’s views in the two months prior to the current. Hence as you suspected it’s because your star video is new.
Thanks for the explanation @AdamGT. Hope to be back on the board at the end of my probation period then.
It’s all done to provide a level playing field @tony_b. From what you have said, your probation period should only be a short one
