In my experience tracking my numbers, that occurs when it takes a bit more than 30 days to reach the next 1% threshold. So if it changed on the 25th of one month and is taking 45 days to increase by 1%, then the end of the new month might be too early, and the next change could occur around the 10th of the third month. ,

I have to admit, the red light was luck. First because a car was passing along this extremely low traffic street and secondly the exposure did fit.

Yes there is a lot of documentation but I have to say that the Startup Guide that you would have been directed to has everything you need to know about getting started. Have another read of that but also, to answer your specific question, this index with the links contained might help you. It’s a good index to bookmark.

reading and memorizing all the documentation can be challenging, since @AdamGT did a great job to describe everything.
To respond to your question briefly with my words (hoping, Adam doesn’t mind 
) :
The “albums” for the star photo and star videos are discussion threads here on Local Guides Connect. You just reply to it and insert your screen shot.
Two important things to remember though:
- Carefully read the first comment of the album, to understand how your “album page” should be formatted,
- Although the “album” in reality is a discussion thread, you should only add one single reply containing the screenshot and its description (as explained in the first comment!), but no further discussions. For questions and discussions and questions related to Star albums use Discussion on Local Guides 2025 Star Photos instead.
New albums are always created at the beginning of each year

Oh yes, Eva. I also had a recent confrontation with “Dexter”. I’d actually forgotten all about him and couldn’t figure why I was having trouble.

If Dexter sent you here then well done you for acting on that advice and after checking the March Star Photo Leaderboards, finding that mistake

Correct and this is the link to your photo. When you look at the first comment of the thread, under “3 - Steps to add your star photo:”, you’ll find some more tips. For example how to format the caption for your star photo screenshot: Star photo by @YourConnectUsername of [name of the place] uploaded onto Google Maps on [include date uploaded] and showing star views of [enter star views] as at [include star views date].
Yes, at the beginning of each year, @AdamGT creates new albums and the corresponding threads to discuss them. We need to add the screenshot to the new album and also correct the permalink in the T100 system under Data Entry → Your Stars → Star Photo:
If not done so yet, you can register at the T100 Leaderboard System site. The best place to start to find out more about the leaderboards is at the Leaderboard Index (Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides) which has links to all the current leaderboards and related posts on Connect. You will also see the Register link (Google Maps Local Guides Leaderboards) there.
A valid point! During my 30+ years of professional work, I was used to read each and every manual (and also wrote several of those), but I have to admit, the documentation for the T100 system describes all details so comprehensive that it makes you tired to read all and remember everything 
The good news: there is a description of everything … as far as I can tell.
