Good to hear @Annaelisa. As I have so often mentioned, regardless of whether your star views increase, decrease or remain unchanged, always update the information you know at the time/ If the star views remain unchanged then simply record that date you made the observation. This way, all your history is captured and correctly recorded for all T100 calculations, tables and charts.

It is stuck at the same number since July 2024.

Data is updated every month in the Top 100 System without fail irrespective of the changes.

Yes that’s very much the same with my star photo @WilfriedB and we just have to wait for our star to shine brighter are wait for a new star to overtake it. On my latest star tracking, I see some hope

It’s yet another great photo Wilfried and once the new featured photo system is completed, we should see more great photos.

Yes the theory is that the lower the star views the more likely you will see an increase in views from one period to the next but that differential period increase as well

If you ask me, either way will take years

Hello @MariaNgo and I’m excited to hear that you are registering for participation.

Both the dates that you are required to provide are important but a good approximation is better than a really bad one as the dates are used in the behind the scene calculations of some of the Leaderboards. If you cannot find the LG start date, I suggest scrolling down to find the date of either the first review you gave on Maps or the date of the first photo that you added and use which ever is the most historical to guesstimate your start date. If you only have a month then make it the 1st of that month. HTH

We all look forward to seeing you on the April leaderboards

Thanks for early publishing this month @AdamGT

Amazing that @SvenJacobs of Level 7 has so many more Star Photo views than the Levels 8, 9, and 10 guides. Congratulations, Sven.

I can understand why you would be confused @MariaNgo as the date that is shown on the screenshot that @Annaelisa has shown is the date that you joined Connect and hence not the date that you are after. Therefore, as you have rightly indicated, your start date is likely to be on or before 18 Jan 2017.

Yes sadly it could well be that you added photos and or reviews before your signed up as a Local Guide so just use the tip I mentioned in my earlier reply.

That’s not as bad as some of us @Kumaarsantosh

You’re doing it right then Santosh.

@AdamGT Well scrolling back to the first photo is out of the question - you know how slowly it scrolls when you have tens of thousands of photos … lol
So let’s say 1 Jan 2017 was when I first posted photos for a round figure.
Or even 18 Jan 2017.
In any case I did put the June 2017 date down. But that’s not going to be accurate then for your calculations would you say?
Shall I change it to 18 Jan 2017? As at least that photo has a clear date on it of when it was posted.
Shall we take that as when I joined local guide?
I thought at the time that posting photos was akin to joining. But I didn’t know what I was doing then.
And it seems, I don’t know what I’m doing now either when technical things/details are concerned (!).

Yes but we might just get lucky Wilfried! In the meantime we just keep guiding and keep clicking, keep being a Local Guide

First a big congrats To @JustJake for leading the field in daily average Star photo views.
@AdamGT my star photo did increase in January of this year and trends indicate it will every 2/3 months. Boy I miss the old pre crash days when it would increase 2 or 3 times a month.

Thanks Anthony! I’m trying hard to get them out much earlier in the month than has been the case in recent months. There are still some issues that crop up from time to time and that’s where the deep checking by everyone helps a lot. Regardless, I’ve decide to just keep on schedule and try to fix up any issues that crop up in between posts or after the full compliment of Leaderboards have been posted.

It’s obviously a very popular POI and we can learn a lot from this.

Thanks for the shoutout re Jake @TerryPG and that’s a good board to be number one on. Unlike some of us, it sounds like you at least have an increasing trend Terry. Well done you

I think we haven’t fully recovered from the changes Google made on the Maps platform in February 2024. I still update every month but there’s been no change for a whole year now. Meanwhile, my position on the overall Top 100 Star Photo list continues to drop as others either show a small increase or join for the first time. I went from #99 in November to 101 in December, then 103, 103, and now 105 in March.

Meanwhile, my Top 100 Star Photo Average Views/Day continues to decrease, as the same number of views divided by an increasing number of days since posting, will yield a smaller result. November listed the average as 1013, December 999, followed by 984, 972, and now March 958.

I hope you get this done @MariaNgo. With your high performance, we look forward to seeing you take your place at or near the top of the Leaderboards. I also found the start date to be confusing as I’d used the date of my oldest photo posted. Then Google sent me a recent congratulatory message with an older length of tenure on Local Guides, and I realize I may have been doing Edits or Reviews on Maps, long before I did any photos.

Merci @AdamGT pour la publication rapide de ces classements. J’ai mis à jour mes données mensuelles. Le nombre de vues de ma photo star continue d’augmenter — quelle chance !

Wow!! You’re one of the lucky ones. Even before the changes last February, my Star Photo had long ago become what @AdamGT refers to as a “red” Star. It was getting a negligible amount of views per month compared to its early days when it was first posted.
