Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Photos (September, 2024)

@WilfriedB , I’m very observant and you are a fast learner haha. Well done you, adding the great photo to Maps where it should be and do keep us all updated on how it goes views wise

My pleasure @Rajatsah007 and congratulations on moving up to the door of the Level 9 Photo Views board. Can I suggest that you use the Leaderboard System and add your video and photo impact numbers and do it each month. It’s really easy to do and will only take you a few minutes

Hi and again thank you for doing this job @AdamGT @As I understood there is something missing with my pics and videos. I have now updated my data and hopefully I made it :pray:t2: I guess I’ll see in end October.

Sorry to hear that you had something missing with your pics and videos @JonBekkevoll but I’m pleased to hear that you will be back, no doubt with a vengeance, at end October.

@AdamGT thank you for “… adding the great photo to Maps”.

I couldn’t resist to mention  , I did post 33 photos to several places of that small town. The one with the most views (showing food!) got 13,429 views three months after the visit, but 18 still show zero views as of today:

Responding to your question in the last paragraph @AdamGT it seems that @Jake_Lee_S does indeed appear on the Level 7 Photo Views Leaderboard. Looks like @Jankes and @Gopinallaiyan may have fallen afoul of the #8 rule on the Readme page.

8. A [0] superscript following a Local Guide’s username indicates that the photo views of the respective Local Guide are most likely overstated and should be read with caution as this Local Guide has not added the Impact value of their videos contributed to Maps. In these cases the views value is also shown on a background color.
Update::To provide a level playing field, while being included in the Top 100 Media leaderboard, Local Guides that should but don’t provide/update their video impact data will be excluded from all photo views leaderboards.

If I’ve missed any other detail, please enlighten us so we can all learn together.

Thank you very much @PrasadVR I appreciate your comments a lot.

Making photos since more than half century and having collected over a quarter million on our PCs, I merely treat them as a kind of visual diary, but being happy for any comments.

I am happy @WilfriedB you like my comments. I am so much impressed with your photos on Google maps. I sincerely appreciate your dedication "Making photos since more than half century and having collected over a quarter million on our PCs"

I feel your pain. Photos with zero views continue to be a worrying occurrence @WilfriedB

I haven’t had opportunity to test all of mine to ensure they’re not hidden, but remember we still aren’t sure what constitutes a view under the new arrangement since February. Some clarity from Google would be good.

Good morning Tony!

Thank you, but I neither feel pain nor consider this as a reason to worry. As you know, since April I track the views in detail daily, take it as a fact and just observe. Unfortunately, I did not do so so before, so I cannot really compare the number of views before February 7.

Interesting is the question whether a subjectively good or nice photo is really “good” to gain many views and vice versa. I have doubts.

It might be interesting to see what happens to the one selected by @AdamGT .

My pleasure @WilfriedB , as I mention in the post, it’s a great photo and I love featured great photos. I’d love to see some from Barbados too  Did you say zero views after 3 months :sob:

Thank you for your appreciation @StevenBerlin . We’re all excited to see top Local Guides like yourself participate as it gives us an indication of possibilities.

Thank you so much @Ducci . I’m really pleased to hear that you love everything about the Leaderboards. And we love that you participate in fact, you’ve been a participant for going on 4 years.

Hello @AdamGT this is probably not the best place for this, but while I see you’re on line I need to ask about Dexter. He demoted me from top VIP status, claiming I hadn’t read or given kudos to the charts in this thread. I checked every one of the suggestions and confirmed I’d already done them. Some glitch perhaps??

Nice thought @AdamGT , but as I said somewhere else, I’m not a photographer displaying my work on Maps. I’m a Maps user who’s been “gamified” into adding photographs. Mine are just not that good. Huge congrats for your wonderful photo @WilfriedB
