Hi @Shrut19 yes throughout India Rangoli is done during festivals. Here in Tamil Nadu we put kolams every day. Simple ones. But during festivals and Dhanurmas, big kolams are done.

Thanks for your valuable information that a rice brand name is kolam.

Hi @Gurukrishnapriya ,

Thank you so much for writing a separate post to share more details about the beauty and significance of kolam! I enjoyed every line of it and especially the great photos you shared.

I remember you mentioned in your previous post about Marghazhi that women draw those delicate patterns. Should those women be of or above a certain age? Or anyone - from a kid to grandmother - can draw them?

Hi @DeniGu

Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback. Feeling happy that you liked my post.

There’s no age limit. A kid to grandmother can draw. This practice increases our concentration and creativity. In fact this is an activity which combines our mind, body and soul.

Thanks for asking questions. It’s my pleasure to answer.

Regards.

Amazing post @Gurukrishnapriya mam. So, finally you have presented it. Very well articulated and presented !!!

Just want to add some of my thoughts - In some places, you have presented very useful facts (like ants take away rice from pooja room and scientific reason of drawing kolam to keep germs away). It is better to bold such things - because we may often miss out these important facts due to fast reading.

Drawing Kolam has many scientific logics and this doesn’t surprised me. Of course, that’s what Indic culture is all about. I think I should also draw Kolam some time in future outside the gate of my house … :grinning:

Keep writing such articles mam !!!

Hi @Tushar18

Thanks for your wonderful reply and surely take your suggestions, to highlight important facts.

Sorry for not tagging you in the post itself. There was some problem while uploading pictures etc. So unable to go back to my previous post to find out who were the others who requested me to write a post about this topic. Say some 5 LGs has requested me to write about Kolam. Thanks to you and others, which makes me writing posts.

Hello @Gurukrishnapriya mam,

I’m really honoured that you tagged me here and by that, I got the chance to read about Kolam. I think some 1-2 topics are still left with you, apart from writing about Kolam. You told me about these some time earlier.

Hi @Gurukrishnapriya mam,

Yes, @Kousalya is absolutely right. I asked you to write about Kartikeya Deepam, whenever it becomes suitable to you. Thank you very much @Kousalya:grinning:

Apart from this, you were telling that you also have to write about Thiruppavai and Srivilliputhur Temple. I think you now have many topics to write about. Good luck … :grinning:
