Hello Local Guides Team and Community,
I would like to share a technical usability feedback regarding post discovery and profile navigation on the Local Guides Connect Forum, especially for contributors who have written a large number of posts.
Many active contributors, including myself, have 100+ posts on their profiles. At present, when we need to find an older post for reference or research, we are required to scroll extensively, which becomes extremely difficult and time-consuming.
Recently, while writing this post: Index of Bangladesh Local Guides , I needed to revisit several of my older posts to gather accurate information. However, navigating through my entire post history by continuous scrolling felt very challenging and inefficient.
Additionally, over time, several official and personal posts appear to have disappeared during forum updates. Notably, some official Guiding Star posts from 2020 and 2021 are no longer easily accessible, which is concerning from a documentation and community history perspective.
Suggested Improvement (Feature Request)
To improve usability and accessibility, I would like to suggest the following enhancement:
-
Introduce page-based navigation for user profiles
-
Each page could display 10–20 posts per section
-
Posts could be shown in a Grid View layout
-
4 posts per row
-
Each post showing cover image + title
-
-
A total of 40 posts per page
-
Include numbered page buttons (Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, etc.)
This would allow contributors to quickly jump between pages and locate their required posts without endless scrolling.
For better understanding, I have also attached a sample image/mockup illustrating this idea.
Why This Matters
-
Saves time for active contributors
-
Improves content discoverability
-
Helps preserve and access important historical & official posts
-
Enhances overall forum usability and contributor experience
I hope other Local Guides will share their thoughts and feedback on this idea as well.
