Supporting Small Businesses: Chai Pe Charcha

many small businesses in Connaught Place area of New Delhi operate on the footpath.
Netaji’s tea stall is one of them located near the Hanuman Temple area. All tea lovers visiting the Hanuman Temple make sure to have tea here. And people like us, if we are in the Connaught Place area, always stop by to enjoy tea there. In fact, there have been many discussions over tea here. The footpath shops here are not permanent, yet they feel permanent. What I mean is that in a large open area, all businesses bring their goods in the morning, set up their shops, and pack up everything in the evening. At night, the entire area will be empty. However, each vendor has a fixed spot to set up their shop. There are many such small businesses in our country. And I am involving myself in the drive of Supporting Small Businesses. @TusharSuradkar ji, I know that “Chai Pe Charcha” is your idea. It’s Great idea to popularise the noble cause.Thank you to you. I am curious to know who started the drive of Supporting Small Businesses.Just to thank him/her.

Thank you, @K.K.Sharma Ji, for the appreciation and recognition :handshake:
Supporting small businesses is one of the prime goals of the Google Maps community.

I am pleased to know that you are involved in this drive.
I’d like to more about this.

I have been supporting small businesses for more than 5 years now.
There are also others like @AjitThite whose work is highly recognized in this area by Google.

I think that non-permanant shops are on the borderline of being added to Google Maps.
I am not sure about the exact rules.
But I know even food carts can be added to Google Maps if they have a fixed location and operating hours.
So the tea stalls that you saw in Delhi could qualify as a small business and we can support them.
