Street view update

Hello everybody!

I am trying to replace the street view made by Google with street view I made, as a Google street view contributor.

Is there a way for Google street view to show immediately the newer photos (I made) instead that I need to change the date in the upper left corner where is the “clock”.

Thank you

Hi @user_not_found

Welcome to Connect. Nice to meet you!

To make you feel at home I suggest you take a look at Your Guide to Connect (it’s a quick introduction to our community) and feel free to introduce yourself here.

When you have questions, try using the search field at the top first. Then check the Help desk documents and What are Connect topics before asking a new question in the How-to section.

Also, streetview photographer have access to a dedicated section where I think your question will fit better.

I’m tagging @SonyaN to help you out.

Thanks

The 360° photos displayed on Street View on Google Maps are selected by an algorithm, @user_not_found .

It is possible, BTW, if you made a “Blue Line”, for the algorithm to choose the “most recent photos”

In fact I can see that a piece of Blue Line has been generated from your photos, where street view was not available, while other 360 are not connected, and appear as single dots

@ErmesT Actually, I do not have problems with uploading street view images for streets that didn’t had street view before I shoot them.

If you check the address “Ripenda Kras 12, 52220, Ripenda Kras, Croatia” you will see that the street was passed by Google in 2011 and than again in 2020 (by me). The part around the house (that assembles the question mark path) is presented immediately because Google wasn’t there before me. The street view was passed by Google before I passed it again and the photos from Google (from 2011) have a priority over mine.

Said that, I would be happy if the street view from 2020 would be set as a first choice by Google.

For now, the first choice is the images from 2011 and I can see the 2020 photos only if I select the newer date in the upper left corner where is the “clock” icon.

The street view photos were made with a Pilot Era camera and uploaded to the Google with one button upload options…

Thank you

Thanks for the new feedback @user_not_found .

This is true, because the algorithm normally gives priority to the “official” street view" photos.

BTW, depending on where i click on the blue line, times by times I see one of your photo coming up first, like on this case: https://goo.gl/maps/nck6auZ1Gq7BReL38

Yes I understood about the algorithm priorities, it would be great if we could “priorities” our photos somehow

Thanks!
