So you reach Level 10 local guide level, what now?

So its a challenge to hit level 10 but through consistency & time you do it.. now you finally hit level 10.. well.. what now? All the excitement is over.. what do you do now?

I Ask would you do it all over again? Would you start again with a fresh account?

Hi @Soloeexim, Welcome to Connect!
Being a Local Guide isn’t always about the numbers. There are so many impactful ways to contribute, like ‘Clean the World’ initiatives, ‘Clean the Map’ efforts, hosting meetups, or writing high-quality posts. If your only goal is to hit Level 10, your journey ends the moment you reach it.

For me, it’s about every positive action we take along the way. Since you are new here, I suggest exploring meetups around you, engaging with posts you find useful, or perhaps aiming to join ConnectLIVE 2026. Above all, don’t forget to introduce yourself to the community!

So, what is your true aim as a Local Guide?

Hi @Soloeexim, that is a very profound question.

To share my experience, I actually once had a Level 6 account but had to start all over again from Level 0 with a new one. Interestingly, after hitting Level 6 for the second time, I stopped worrying about points or levels.

My initial motivation was simply to get the free Google Drive storage reward. However, after going through the journey twice, I realized it was never about the levels or the perks. It’s about social contribution and making our environment better for everyone.

Contributing is not always easy, and it might not feel as ‘rewarding’ as getting a trophy, but there is a deep satisfaction in knowing we are doing the right thing for the community. My goal now is to stay consistent with this mindset. It’s about the impact, not the badge.

Hi @Soloeexim

If you are motivated only by the points, badges and levels and you reach the max level, I’m sure you will have found other motivating aspects of being a Local Guide. Otherwise you are unlikely to reach level 10. Helping others is a big one. Interaction with fellow Local Guides is another major motivator. Others like running or participating in collaboration projects organized here on Connect.

But you are always free to stop making contributions if that is what you wish to do.

Level 10 is not the ultimate goal, just at mark. The challenges and work goes on….and on and also the enjoyment seeing your work come alive every time you contribute on Google Map.
