I will share with you my experience in Sicily. We were there two weeks and, believe me, it is not enough to visit the entire island (although we thought it would be). We are always ambitious with out trips and, of course, we want to see everything! But, since we flew to Trapani, we decided to explore the west part of the island. We picked up several points: Erice, San Vito Lo Capo, Cefalú, Palermo and Agrigento. What did we like the most? I wouldnt choose just one place, we found lovely spots everywhere, but La Riserva dello Zingaro was outstanding. We were there in June, so we skipped the tourists crowds, best
decision ever.
And the food? Well I think I would need another post for it! Will come soon!
I hope you enjoy my post and you encourage me to write more (this one is the first!)
And if you have questions about my trip, just let me know!
Thank you for the great photo. It was interesting for me to read your story but I am eager to hear more. How did you get there? Are there any direct flights? I am planning to visit the island and stay in a nice house outside the city area.

First of all thank you so much for this post. My family comes from Sicily, but from the east side of the island. I’ve never had the chance to visit Riserva dello Zingaro before, is this the one that you add in the picture?
I bet that you loved your experience there, so if you planning to go back I would advise you to go around September. In that period around Trapani there is an amazing cous cous festival, and from there you can go to the island of Favignana, famous for the Cala Rossa beach and for the super tasty tuna.
Since you’re new to the community, you might want to share a bit about yourself and get to know others in our monthly Introduce Yourself topic.
I hope you will have the chance to visit your relatives in Sicily soon.
