Hey everyone! We’re super excited to announce that there will be a EuroMeetup for 2026! 
We’ve had a bit of a slow start but we’ve settled on the following proposed dates and location.
Start Date: Friday 8 May
End Date: Sunday 10 May or Monday 11 May (TBC)
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Maps)
General agenda:
- Friday evening - Welcome reception
- Saturday - Full day exploring Dublin
- Sunday - Full day exploring Dublin
- Monday - Farewell brunch (TBC)
Note:
The end date is not fully confirmed at this moment in time. We might end with a farewell dinner on Sunday or a farewell brunch on Monday.
What is EuroMeetup?
EuroMeetup is an annual (so far) community-led event organised by Local Guides for Local Guides; it is not run by Google! It is a great opportunity for Local Guides to meet and learn from each other whilst doing all the things that Local Guides love to do; exploring new places, writing reviews, uploading photos/videos, checking business info, supporting local businesses and more!
Attendees are usually very sociable and easy to get on with. We do encourage everyone to stay together as a group when exploring the city but you are free to come and go based on your own availability! Expenses, travel and accommodation are paid for and organised by the attendees themselves. And we highly recommend having travel and medical insurances!
As the name suggests, we are very much centred in Europe and we try to pick a different city to travel to. Past events were hosted in Lucca (2025), Manchester (2024), Munich (2023), Ghent (2019) and Krakow (2018); unfortunately COVID put a pause on EuroMeetup in 2020-2022.
Every year we encourage Local Guides to step up to be a host, choose a city (usually their home city) and organise this event! 
Why are we hosting EuroMeetup 2026 at the end of ConnectLIVE Dublin?
You may notice that the dates coincides with ConnectLIVE Dublin (7-8 May) and it is partially intentional. Here are the reasons why:

EuroMeetup is normally in June but we polled our past EuroMeetup attendees and the vast majority of potential EuroMeetup attendees for this year are actually going to ConnectLIVE Dublin and they were keen to do EuroMeetup after ConnectLIVE finishes!

If you missed out on getting an invite to ConnectLIVE Dublin, EuroMeetup is your best opportunity to meet and hang out with a large group of Local Guides! By taking advantage of the ConnectLIVE Dublin event, this year’s EuroMeetup will most likely have the highest number of attendees! And you’ll have the chance to meet Local Guides from around the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region!
Update (1 Apr): If you’re a ConnectLIVE Dublin attendee:
a) …and have time to join the EuroMeetup event, please sign up using the form link below. We need the headcount to make sure we know how big the group will be.b) …and have already confirmed your travel arrangements for ConnectLIVE, please don’t request any amendments so that you can attend EuroMeetup! We appreciate the intention, but we don’t want to cause any unnecessary disruption to the ConnectLIVE process!
What to expect at EuroMeetup 2026?
We will be exploring Dublin at a leisurely pace to give time for Local Guides to enjoy the local sights and socialise with each other. We are planning to coordinate our activities with ConnectLIVE attendees to avoid any clashes in trips/tours/visits (their plans started first before ours did!).
This year, due to the late announcement, EuroMeetup 2026 will be a much simpler event but you can still expect lots of fun moments socialising with Local Guides! A number of Connect Moderators will be there so you can expect lots of selfies with @LuigiZ (and possibly forced encouraged to take part in a dance video! 
). pick the brains of @JanVanHaver, @MortenCopenhagen and @ErmesT, talk accessibility with @JaneBurunina and much more (there are more but I am still confirming who’s attending! 
)

We are still in the very early days of planning and will be fleshing out the agenda for EuroMeetup very soon. Please fill in this form if you are interested in the EuroMeetup event and want to be kept updated or if you want to register and confirm your attendance in Dublin! EuroMeetup is a community-led event that is not related at all to ConnectLIVE. EuroMeetup attendees (those not invited to ConnectLIVE) cannot attend the official Google activities. We are also not expecting/wanting the Google team to do anything special for EuroMeetup! We are staging EuroMeetup to be after ConnectLIVE to have a clear distinction between the two events.
We appreciate that this announcement is quite late so ConnectLIVE attendees may have already confirmed their travel arrangements or have other plans and cannot join in with the EuroMeetup group. We do sincerely apologise for this!
Please be respectful of the NDA contracts signed by ConnectLIVE attendees. EuroMeetup attendees should not ask ConnectLIVE attendees for any confidential information. Likewise, ConnectLIVE attendees need to remember to not talk about any confidential information with EuroMeetup attendees or in a public environment where their conversations can be overheard.
ConnectLIVE Dublin, as far as we (EuroMeetup attendees/hosts) are concerned, is the primary event and we will try to ensure that EuroMeetup plans do not jeopardise anything related to ConnectLIVE. Simplistically, if you’re a ConnectLIVE attendee please keep your focus and energy on ConnectLIVE.
The situation in the Middle East has completely changed my plans in the coming months and, at the moment, I am not attending ConnectLIVE Dublin nor EuroMeetup 2026.. but I am helping to get EuroMeetup off the ground and am open to having a host to take over with the organisation!
