I would like to know the policy concerning adding a review to each business location for a national company when the review is related to the service provided from the company rather than the location. This affects all customers nationally and not just an individual location. Would it be considered against the rules to do this?
The question is indeed interesting for a large company, @Macjhawk , but it is not related to Local Guides Connect.
Local Guides cannot write a post on a business listings. Only the owner of the listing can.
Connect is a place to get to know other Local Guides, plan activities, share your stories, give feedback and more. We ask that posts on Connect stay on-topic.
What are Connect topics? will help you to understand what are the topics of the community.
You should ask to the appropriate community: Google My Business
In addition, if you are here to represent a business, I want to let you know that this is against the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions : “Organizations, brands, and businesses are not eligible for the Program.”
Hi @Macjhawk ,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I just wanted to let you know that I will move your post to our How-tos section, where Local Guides ask questions and express their doubts related to the program. More information on that matter is available here. I will also accept @ErmesT 's comment as a solution, since it gives an answer to your query.
Thank you for the help! Much appreciated! However, I was asking a question and you marked it as resolved with no actual resolution to the question I asked. I still need to understand the rules and/or policy concerning adding same review to multiple locations of a nation wide company.
On your original question you asked about “post”, @Macjhawk .
A Post is an ability that only a business owner have, that’s why you were addressed to the Google My Business community.
Now you are asking about “reviews” that is something different.
The answer to your questions is: No, you can’t.
This is against the Maps User Contributed Content Policy Contributions must be based on real experiences and information, and the experience can be different, from place to place. A more explicit indication is given in Prohibited and Restricted Content : spam and fake contents - Your content should reflect your genuine experience at the location and should not be posted just to manipulate a place’s ratings. Don’t post fake content, don’t post the same content multiple times …
The information I shared with you are available (together with many others) directly from the help on your Google Maps App.
As your question is changed, I will remove the solution from the previous reply and I will flag this one as the solution. BTW, you should correct the title of your post, to avoid any misunderstanding between Post and Reviews on Google Maps
Thank you Ermest. I’ve updated the title, and the message as well, to help people better understand my question. Also, thank you for the information, the detail about the locations is what I needed to understand.
It doesn’t seem fair to review a single location for what the company is doing on their mobile app. I’ve posted a review of the app on the app store but I wish there was a better way to get the word out about their app/service nationally.
