is reporting a road edit as an inappropriate effect mappers score in any way?
Some times I sow long road edits that will not be approved by Google for sure and I have my self some long edits or even short edits but I think it will not be approved.
is it ok to report them as an inappropriate and nothing will harm my others/my credits?

Here is a road edit I made. So I don’t see an option to report or flag it.

Please make a screenshot showing the options you see to report this edit. Feel free to do so.
If there is an option to do it you should use it. If correct and not misused, your account will be safe.

This is a delete edit. give me and add edit. or see my last edit Google Maps and click on it.
google will give you an option to remark it as inappropriate and it will disappear.

When a feature is available in Google Maps, we can safely use it.

Hi @Port , sure you can report every road edit that is really “inappropriate”. I mean, it must be a road that doesn’t exist.
Of course I’m aware of that, @MortenCopenhagen , on May 2024 I wrote a specific post about that: Handle with care: Changes in the Road Editor and how to handle them

That’s why I wrote “handle with care”.
I am reporting crazy road edits almost every day, with no issues on my account.
But I never report edits that are “plausible” , even if made in a way that they will never be approved.

@ErmesT in fact the my/other edits are fine but they are long and from my experience long edits will not be approved “my edits vanished after 90 days”. the problem is those edits causing blocks to the area as I can’t edit the road until google reject it “ after 90 days” this is why I think of reporting them as inappropriate so they will be rejected/disappear and then I can proceed by adding short edits that 99% will be approved and removing the block. Hop my Idea “removing blocks” is clear.
Now the second point that you misunderstand my point. if I report your edits as an inappropriate for sure nothing will happen to me as I am the reporter and you are the editor. My concern/warried about the effect of such report to your account not mine. does it effect your account in any way?
in our profile there is something called reported incorrect. I was worried if I aske some one to report my edits that this counter will increase! or something else effect my credit / reputation.
This will delete only the notification but it will not delete your edit. the record will not be deleted from google registry.

Honestly I never report an edit that’s plausible, even if it will never be approved, because too long or too complicated. My feeling is that this action may affect my account, because I am reporting an edit made by someone else that is not inappropriate. When I encounter that kind of situation I simply save the position on a list, to check the place later.
I don’t have a feedback from Google about what can happen to the account who made the reported edit.
Hopefully Google will check the report, and decide who’s acting in the wrong way, if the one who reports or the one reported, and maybe they may decide to take action if the action is constantly repeated.

Reported incorrectly is not what you anticipated. It is when you know a business name is wrong but you don’t know what it should be. See this screenshot

I think, the best example for when to use it, is an incorrect URL to the business’ website. You can see clearly, it is wrong, but don’t know the correct one. If I remember correctly, we also get some points for reporting incorrect.
@Port , I understand; The “Reported Incorrect” number shows the total count of edits you flagged as wrong and that Google has accepted.
Oh yes. It’s a very useful tool in many cases so we’re not duplicating the efforts of other Road Warriors. However, there are many places with strangely submitted anomalies that will cut across large sections of the map and cause significant delays in loading. Some of them are named something like, “Route Home,” with tells me that someone was confused. But the majority seem to have been submitted by a system of some sort. I’ve seen edits noted as future rail lines and power lines.
This is an example of one. Trying to get the map to load in any of the areas this line crosses takes a very long time. Once I report the edit and it gets removed, load times go back to normal.

No body answer my question and I think only google can.
Any way as those edits block progress and I can’t wait to complete the area and move to another area and as long as I think it will not harm the person who make the edit that I report it as an inappropriate and frankly I don’t mind reporting my edits as they get stuck for approval and they will not be approved until they vanish, I don’t mind reporting them!
I am doing something else for my edits I draw over them and google approve my send edits.
I wish I can remove my bad edits “very short / very long / stops in very bad points” but I can’t do it but others can!
