@Kumaarsantosh ji Thank you for sharing a detailed recap.

I was eagerly waiting :hourglass_not_done: for it since I unfortunately missed the session.

It truly sounds like it was a very impactful one, with many meaningful takeaways as you highlighted :heart_eyes:

I also appreciate you reading out my message to Sir, I’m really glad to know it made him feel good :smiley:

I happened to read his post, Is Two Always Better Than One
and found it incredibly insightful.

It offered valuable tips on what to watch for while uploading photos on Google Maps especially the explanations around, what is considered ‘redundant’ and how ‘different’ can sometimes still be ‘similar’ :star_struck:

Thank you once again for organising this session with @ErmesT

Your recap captured it so well that, even though I missed attending, I still gained a lot through your summary and Sir’s recommended post :folded_hands:

As always, you have maintained your high standard of excellence. Wishing you all the very best :clap: :bouquet:

Thank you, @SonamW, for your kind words and generous appreciation of the Ghumakkad Gossip meet-ups. Your contributions to these meet-ups are truly remarkable in every sense; your presence, your engaging interactions, and your thoughtful expressions consistently add depth and warmth to each meet-up. We genuinely look forward to connecting through GG meet-ups, and your involvement makes them all the more meaningful. I am sincerely grateful to you, and this meet-up was no exception. :folded_hands:

I completely agree with your perspective on recaps. When they are thoughtfully captured, well-documented, and meaningfully presented, they go far beyond being a mere formality. A good recap preserves the true essence of the meet-up; it reflects the depth of discussions, highlights key moments, and allows anyone going through it to clearly understand what was shared, discussed, and learned. It becomes a valuable resource that carries forward the spirit and insights of the meet-up.

I also share your thoughts about the way @ErmesT presented his experiential learning during the meet-up. It truly felt like diving deep into an ocean of knowledge within the Local Guides journey. What stood out most was his ability to simplify complex ideas and present them in such an easy-to-understand and practical manner, making it accessible for everyone to learn from and apply.

Once again, thank you, Sonam, for taking the time to go through the recap so thoroughly and for acknowledging the effort behind it. Your encouragement means a lot and continues to inspire us. :handshake:

Danke für diese interessante und umfangreiche Zusammenfassung.

@Kumaarsantosh

Thank you so much for the recap, @Kumaarsantosh .
I want to thank you for organizing it, and everyone who attended because most of them are Local Guides with a huge experience, and are also very well known. I think they can help a lot in spreading the message about Maps integrity.
Google Maps is an extremely useful [free] tool and keeping it clean and working properly should be the goal of all users.
Unfortunately, not everyone “thinks like a user.” Some think it’s a game where the more you post, the cooler you look, no matter what you post. But in this meetup, we didn’t want to talk about those people, but rather about those who, driven by good intentions, sometimes don’t realize that what they’re doing can be extremely harmful to Maps, and therefore to everyone who uses it.
These errors are often made in good faith, often induced by Maps itself. A post is being prepared on this very topic.
In the meantime, I’ll leave you the link to some posts that were the basis for building the structure of this meet-up.

Thanks for your beautiful words, @Manishhh , @Maximilianozalazar , @Np45-Nirav , @TravellerG , @Ruchee2 , @PrasadVR , @Gvipin , @SharmaKK

A special thanks to @Shrut19 . We have had some misunderstandings in the past, but always with good intentions. :pray:

@SonamW
Santosh delivered your message during the meet-up, and I want to thank you for it :pray:. Many treat accessibility like a game, but it’s actually an extremely important subject that must be treated with care and respect. It’s a subject that often stems from personal experience, an experience that helps us understand better and grow.

Namaskar,

Thank you, @ErmesT, for your kind words and for mentioning me. I truly appreciate the intention behind promoting Maps integrity and responsible contributions.
I would just like to humbly share one small thought. While discussing global contributions and numbers, mentioning specific countries in comparisons can sometimes feel sensitive from a community perspective. Since Local Guides come from diverse backgrounds, it feels more inclusive when we keep the focus on the global community as a whole.
That said, I respect your efforts and the message you are trying to convey. Learning and improving together is what makes this community strong.
