Hey Local Guides Team,
Namaste
Thank you so much for joining our Virtual Sunset Walk in Devgad, @AjitThite called this meetup as Sunset Walk, I liked the name, it was such a delight to have you all connected virtually
We started the meetup right from the charming Hoy Maharaja Kitchen in Devgad, where I greeted everyone virtually. From there, we began a relaxed walk, taking in the serene surroundings, just imagine : windmills gently turning in the breeze, the beach just a short stroll away, and the golden hour light painting everything in warm hues.
What We Explored:
- A stunning view from Hoy Maharaja Kitchen, surrounded by windmills and beach on walkable distance
- A walk through a local business lane and food street, showcasing wooden toys from the Sawantwadi
- Delicious street snacks like shevpuri, dabeli, sandwiches, mojitos, coconut water, and ice creams
- A heartwarming highlight — most of the shops were run by women entrepreneurs
- We also noticed adventure activities like a swing and zipline, something to bookmark for when you visit in person!
As the sun began to set, we made our way to the Windmill Garden, soaking in the dreamy sunset vibes together. The highlight? A breathtaking landscapes of Devgad Beach, shared virtually for everyone to enjoy from the comfort of home.
We also took a moment to discuss the culinary specialties of the Konkan region mainly known for its love of fish, jackfruit, mangoes, and cashew.
It’s lovely how both South Indian and Konkan coastal regions share a similar natural charm, rich in beauty, warmth, and culture.
To wrap up the walk, I strolled toward the beach to show everyone the beautiful backdrop of windmills and the zipline zone. It was a calming, picture-perfect end to a soulful meetup
Unfortunately, due to some network issues, our co-host @Rushi_Rustom missed taking a few pictures, but despite that, this was a truly memorable and engaging meetup filled with conversations, laughter, and a virtual sense of togetherness.
Thank you once again for walking (virtually) with me through this lovely corner of Konkan. @Sagarkanherkar @ShreyaMusings @TravellerG @Gvipin @Gurukrishnapriya @Rushikesh_joshi @Kuldip_Patil @TusharSuradkar @Raj_Tayade @K.K.Sharma @MadhurG @Shrut19 @Supriyadevkar @NandKK @Bhaleraosd @framesbysumedh @Supriyadevkar @Piyushdeora122
