RECAP of Indian Heritage Walk 2 Mumbai, CSMVS

My all Local Guides Community friends…

Here I present RECAP of “The Great Indian Heritage Walk II – Mumbai” at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalay! Hope you will enjoy!!

The Great Indian heritage walks…The idea was of @AmbrishVarshney from New Delhi. Thats why I had selected CSMVS for exploring the historical property of Indian & Indian Neighborhoods.
( History, Architecture, Collections, Galleries, Sculpture, Gallery, Picture-Gallery, etc.)
You know that the CSMVS building itself is counted as a Heritage Building!
About CSMVS Heritage value :-
Location- Fort, Mumbai, India
Established- January 10, 1922
Director- Sabyasachi Mukherjee
Collection size- Approx. 50,000 artifacts
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (also known as ‘King Shivaji Museum’) and abbreviated as CSMVS. This was formerly known as ‘The Prince of Wales Museum of Western India’, which is the main museum in Mumbai, Maharashtra…
It was founded in the early 20th century by prominent citizens of Mumbai, with the help of the government, to commemorate the visit of George V, who was Prince of Wales at the time.
It is located in the heart of South Mumbai, near to the Gateway of India. The museum was renamed in 1998 after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of Maratha Empire.

This Indo-Saracenic style of architecture, incorporating elements of other styles of architecture like the Mughal, Maratha and Jain, acts as the back bone of this building. The museum building is surrounded by gardens and palm trees and formal flower bed décors as well.
Arts, Archaeology and Natural History - These are the major 3 categories…
The museum house has around 50,000 exhibits of ancient Indian history foreign lands…
From Indus Valley Civilization artifacts, and other relics from ancient India from the time of the Guptas, Mauryas, Chalukyas and Rashtrakuta, this museum house has many unique exhibitions worth for studying…
As a Postponed Meetup
( Indian-Heritage-Walk-2- CSMVS Mumbai )
Happened successfully on 12th May…

Today I am going to share my Recap, in a different way…

I am sharing my all Meetup attendees experience feedback as my Recap Post, this will tell you feedback about heritage walk Meetup…

1. Prodeep
- Meeting new LGs for a meet-up is always a pleasure; so when I got invited from LG @Shrut19 quickly decided to attend it irrespective of how many show up. My visit to CSMVS happened after a long time and a memorable one, with newly acquainted local guides, greeting each other with our mobile logo tag. Exploring the different galleries of the museum such as the historic stone and metal sculptures, miniature paintings, textile and costume, print gallery, Indian arts and crafts, European art collection, Chinese and Japanese art galleries, the natural history section, the Mummy display, photographer gallery and took photos of some of us even posing with cultural head gear:). Besides clicking 360 and panoramic photos by Mahesh and us, checked out wheelchair Accessible-friendly entrance and washrooms and also drinking water outlets and a museum cafe which is moderately priced. Overall we had wonderful meet-up sharing our thoughts and ideas of local guide meet-ups and the Google map feature

- Hello
Heritage Walk in Mumbai at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharashtra Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), organised by @Shrut19 on 12th May 2019, was my first Local Guide Meet-up, as attendee.
I have been living in Mumbai since birth & visited CSMVS several times. Therefore my aim for attending was not to see the museum, but to meet local guides from Mumbai. And to my satisfaction, I was very happy to meet new friends from different walks of life.
All of them are experienced, intelligent, caring & helpful guides.
Miss Shruti, the Host & organizer have done a wonderful job of guiding all of us at CSMVS. She had prepared herself, well in advance.
This experience was useful for me in organizing my own meet ups.
Wonderful moments were captured in 360 degrees, by one of the attendees, Shri. @Mahesh_Dilip_Salvi with his special 360 camera. We all were thrilled to see such beautiful pictures.
Thanks to all attendees.

- This was my first local Guide Meet-up.
Umm, what can I say, It was the best and I had 4 hours of fun filled with knowledge. I met @ishwardas18 & @Vedsharma

@s-varma, @Vkjain at CSMT station. We went together to CSVM and met other local Guides who were waiting for us at the ticket counter. Initially there was a round of introduction like,

I’m sumeet, currently pursuing MBA and stay in Dadar Mumbai. Then after buying the ticket we passed through the security check and our madness started. We tried to captured every corner of the museum. Garden, stairs, Gift shop, Canteen etc. Mahesh’s 360 camera attracted everyone’s attention. Shruti’s and @Prodeep guided each of us every time. I hope we all will again meet for the next Local Guide Meet-up

4. Vineet Jain:
This was a good first experience for me as a Local Guide as I did get to meet a number of new LGs from my city. I also learnt a few tips as to how to be a good or better local guide. Instead of just treating this as a meet and greet or a picnic of sorts, there is a lot of information I have gathered regarding CSMVM. We are now better equipped to handle questions regarding this place and also around it be it for parking around the place, entry fees, accessibility or even the eating options. So as far as being a LG for CSMVM is concerned yes I can confidently answer all questions thrown my way.
CSMVM is the historical and cultural center of India. It provides a lot of information not only to us Indians but also to tourists visiting India. It is store house of information on religion, Gods and Goddesses, Rajas and Maharajas, paintings, pottery over the ages and many more things. Children get a special section for themselves in this big museum with a plenty of things to keep them busy for the entire day.

My 1st meeting up was good i enjoyed a lot…

It was great day to spend with attending LGs in CSMVs. All photo curious and explorer LGs, made Heritage Walk II meet-up, very memorable with their lifetime memorable company in roaming inside museum.
My meetup, actually started with Host Shruti from Churchgate station, we met there and went to CSMV by Kaali-peeli (by taxi). There, we met LGs, who have already reached @Prodeep & @jgsoneji who were waiting for us. After waiting for others for while, all attendees reached at entrance of CSMV and got tickets – then, we entered inside CSMV. LG Jawahar Soneji, a graphic artist by profession suggested us some group photo standings and took shots. LG Prodeep was capturing candid photos, which we came to know after meet-up was completed, (when we saw his photos). The whole museam walk was in speed as we having time constraint but LG Ishwardas waited for me while i was covering (capturing) birds & animals, statue section, etc. with spherical photo
Around 4 pm we exited from there and with LG Ved, LG Sumit and LG Shruti we made one more visit to Marine Drive Neckless/Sea-face. I want to thank to these 3 LGs for giving their extra time after official meet up to me as I requested them to come with me for Marine Drive visit, My 360 video mode capture is planned in mind for this place.
Visiting this place to get know about our ancients and history, equipment and sacrifices plus observing creativity from global artists inside our local area is priceless. the whole museum, preserved things, their articulation and printed history/info about each thing worth visiting this place again lonely and giving time to study them each individually at least to read about them in detail. I really THANK host LG @Shrut19 for arranging this meet-up otherwise in chaos of this city life i had ignored such places and was not considering spending time as source of knowledge

Hi i am Ved and i am local guides level 8.
Mumbai heritage walk II was hosted by LG Shruti.

This was my first MEETUP.
I was very excited for the meet-up and to meet local guides from Mumbai.
I woke up early because I did not want to get late on my first MEETUP.
Actually I woke up too early that i reached the station half an hour before, than everyone else.
I utilized that time by taking pictures of station and uploading them on maps.
Then i met Ishwardas and Shipra at station and Sumit joined us at bus stop.
At the location we met Shruti and other local guides.
The location of the meet-up was very good.
We took a lot of pictures of arts, antiques, sculptures got to know about the history of Mumbai and Marathas.
That was so informative.
After clicking pictures and taking group selfies and 360° pictures we moved to the cafeteria for refreshments.
And that was my favorite part when everybody was sharing there experiences and stories.
While listening to their stories i felt connected to try those experience through things in my imagination.
We talked about new features and how to be a good local guide.
How to make good contribution on maps, etc.
I learnt a lot from my seniors local guides.

8. @Shipra

She is from Navi Mumbai, this CSMVS meetup was her first Meetup, She told us that, “she is new in Mumbai & CST station is unknown to her”, and all Lg’s who gathering at CST station, they faced problem to find out her, so she was little tensed, She doesn’t know about meetup co-ordination problem ( meetup host faces) as I remember when I attended my First Meetup I was Waiting for the Host one and half hour in an unknown area… anyway, she also told me that"She had already visited CSMVS" so she didn’t clicked a single pic inside the museum…

Google Local Guide community always spread positive thoughts about different topics like meetup, article etc. So we should also support to positive things and avoid to negative things.
