Its second time we organized Local Guides Meet-Up in Joypurhat. But this time its something special for Joypuraht Local Guides. This meet-Up is about Mapping accessibility with Local Guides Bangla members.

We met more than 10 Local Guides there. It was so hot day there but nothing can stop us. The first time we met at the Joypuhat National Shaheed Minar ground. We had intro discussion, Local Guides basics, Quality Guiding tips & Accessibility knowledge sharing at the start of the meet-Up.
We discussed about Google Maps Accessibility information with our new Local Guides & also planned how we will run our Accessibility Meet-Up.

Our Activities!

  • Checking Accessibility status for Local Business, Offices and brand outlets.
  • We marked with #MapAccessibility stickers where we found accessible Ramps and walkway facilities.

  • Added some new places where we found missing, also edited lots of places to update their infos.
  • One of the most important parts of the meet-Up campaign was to make awareness of accessibility facility for the disabled.

We discussed with some Business owners to consider to add Accessible ramp/entrance on their storefront to implement disability rights...

  • We also collected lots of photos for writing reviews & Meet-Up RECAP.
  • About 10+ new places added/edited during the Meet-Up.
  • More than 7 new Local Guides joined to this program.

Great meet-up, @ShafiulB ! The stickers are great, letting people know what place is accessible from a distance while hopefully also making owners of the not accessible places want a sticker.

You guys definitely did some awesome contributing, with both the accessible info and the added places and photos!
