[Recap] Knowledge Sharing Meetup At Pakistan American Cultural Center Karachi

Hello Local Guides,

This post is about a recent recap of my knowledge sharing meetup, which made my insides bloom with happiness and pride to be a local guide.

The question might pop up in your head aboutwhat I got by this knowledge sharing meetup? I guess you’ll have to keep reading till second last paragraph (Clean The World Project)

P.A.C.C Gulshan Iqbal Campus :

I was invited at Pakistan American Cultural Center Gulshan E Iqbal Campus as they are aware about the generic activities of local guides globally.
My gratitude goes to, Ma’am Sumera, who’s immensely enthusiastic and dedicated to educate her students not only the session syllabus but also englighten about us social welfare which can benefit our society, greatly.

The program started on time. As per the routine, I introduced myself and then hopped onto the introduction of local guides program.

Introduction of Local Guides Program :
(Google maps and Local Guides Connect)

Students at Pakistan American Cultural Center were the young pupils around the age of eighteen and above, so I started my presentation by Google maps contributions.

Allstudents there knew about Google maps’s use and they always use it for asking directions. But when I question them that if they knew how these places appear on Google maps,?
The answer was rather unknown to them. They started thinking about it.

It was then that they got to know about the real purpose of the knowledge sharing meetup.

Suprisingly, their interest level boosted to know more about contributions for Google maps.
With the help of slides on Laptop about

“What are the helpful reviews?”
“How you can help people by adding informations?”
" How you can add a new business or place on Google maps? "
And " How are you helping People by uploading great Photographs?"

Local Guides Connect” is a home of Local Guides , where all local guides are always ready, whose primarily purpose is to guide and help each other like a family".

This statement made their jaws dropped, that how millions of local guides share their travel, Food, meetups , photography, and many other experiences at the forum, Local Guides Connect.

Importance Of Accessibility :
Now here is where the savior jumped in, Ma’am Sumera, to guide her students about the causal questions like " what is wheelchair Accessibility?" And "How you can help millions of people on Google maps by adding Accessibility informations? "

Teacher Sumera highlighted the possibility that anybody in any family can suffer the terrible situation when a person want to visit somewhere but he/she feel helpless because of unavailability of wheelchair accessible entrance or ramp at such place.

Clean the World Project :
Madam Sumera assisted me again to educate hers’ students about clean the world Initiative.
She described about process of recycling, and how much plastic products takes time to expire completely in oceans?

And during this all time what negative effects marine life suffers by the plastic pollution?
By the post of @ErmesT Toun Clean the World Project,

we educated them about importance of clean oceans and beaches.
We got the fruit of this one hour knowledge sharing meetup, after the
Students and staff planned a meetup for Clean the Clifton beach meetup on 27th June.
(Which was one of memorable meetups of my life, and I will share recap of Let’s Clean The Clifton Beach soon )

The best thing Teacher did, during Knowledge Sharing Meetup, was giving topics to different students to talk about environmental issues in Pakistan. I was amazed by the students and thier great knowledge and speaking skills.

Thanks again management of PACC and specially Madam Sumera to organise such a great event for her students in Pakistan American Cultural Center .
