Hello all!
I am going to share the recap of the Meetup which I recently hosted. This Meetup is called Inspiring Ramadan Meetup and was conducted at Frazer town during Iftiar time(when Muslims break their fast) during Ramadan. As Ramadan is the holy month for Muslims, we decided to conduct a Food Crawl Meetup in which we will meet and have dishes as well as we will feed the poor people/orphan kids during the Meetup and my thanks to my closest friend, Mahabub for encouraging me to conduct this Meetup. I went to the Meetup location at 6PM and parked my vehicle nearby. I was able to meet the @Dinakar1 who arrived the Meetup location. The location was India Chai shop in Frazer Town. We sat inside the shop and it was the first time I was meeting Dinakar and the friendship started instantly and the mean time @Rahul_Blr07 (Rahul) joined the Meetup. I was knowing Rahul from the previous Meetup which he attended last year. The Iftiar time was around 6.40PM, we had less than half an hour to discuss. We introduced ourselves and then we had a quick discussion about Local Guides Program. I also shared my experience on the Connect Live 2018 with both of them. At 6.41PM, I broke fast by having water and I and Dinakar ordered India Chai and Rahul ordered Ginger Chai. While ordering one interesting thing happened.
I was wearing the Connect Live 2018 TShirt and the shop manager recognised me and said that He is also a Local Guide and he was contributing from long time when he was in abroad, taking pictures and uploading wherever he goes. I was so glad having that experience of getting recognised as a Local Guide by someone. When I asked him more about his Local Guides experience, I get to know that he was not aware of Local Guides Connect. I explained him about Local Guides Connect and how amazing global community of Local Guides, the Connect is! It was indeed a great discussion with the shop manager. We then continued our Meetup and we were able to see the crowd as we expected. Public crowd was more and it quite felt like some function is happening in that place. There were food stalls, Chai shops, Sweet stalls, Street foods shops, etc. We then visited the Charminar Kabab Paradise where we had Chicken Samosa and the taste of Samosas are usually feel much tastier in Ramadan than normal days. There were so many sweet items and we decided to get each one of it and will share and taste it. We ordered Bread Malai, Badam Halwa and Pumpkin Halwa. Among this three, my favorite was Badam Halwa.
After having this, we got some samosas in parcel in order to give it to poor people/orphan kids during the Meetup. We were able to see give it to poor kid and on the way we see some poor people and we give it to them and they seem quite happy. On walking the streets, there was a camp where Muslims were distributing Free Quran for non Muslims in different language translations.
We then went to Zayan Kabab Centre where the crowd was more but comparatively less than the other days. We ordered Kadi Ghosh and had it there. We all enjoyed it as it was so delicious. We then came back near to the Meetup joining location, India Chai and next to it, there is Arabian Tea Cafe where we all three had Tandoori Chai and it taste so well and it was served in sand cup. I remember Rahul saying, Wow, I never had a chai taste so great like this.
We then divided the total expenses and shared in between. We then decided to end the Meetup and we all three were so happy to had this experience. We had another Meetup the next day and decided to meet in that Meetup. My kindest thanks to Dinakar and Rahul for taking time in joining this Meetup and making it successful as well as memorable. I thank Mahabub for encouraging me to conduct this Meetup. I extend my thanks to all the Local Guides and the Local Guides Team for their immense support and encouragement. I hope you all liked this Meetup recap. Happy Guiding!
